SC Rumble Lite white screens

Hi!

I'd posted this on SC's own forum, but no response so I figured I'd try somewhere else...

Ok so I upgraded the firmware to 1.85 and moved to 2.66 figuring there'd be no problems with converting roms and what not. Unfortunately it seems to have semi-bricked my SC rumble Lite. Old roms converted and played on the older firmware and software still work fine, however any roms that I convert now refuse to load and show me two white screens.

I have tried rolling back to 1.84, and self test tells me I'm using 1.84 now. I have also tried 2.66, 2.65, 2.63 beta with various settings, (restart, trim rom, faster play both on and off) to no avail. What can I do?

Thanks for your help in advance!

You sure your using the correct patcher for rumble ? It should say supercard rumble on the title bar.

OMG >_< I'm blind!
It worked... Thanks so much... I had so many versions of the software I was installing the software for the lite or something... no wonder it didn't work... =S

Thanks again!

It looks like the OP got his situation squared away, but I am still having similar problems.  Hopefully someone can help me.

Purchased a Supercard Rumble Lite, not knowing that it was different than the standard Supercard Lite my friend had demonstrated for me.  Initially tried following the directions he provided without knowing that they were for the other card (and other firmware).  FYI I'm also using the SuperKey.

After failed attempts to upgrade using the .bin file I found the .scu file that finally gave me an option to upgrade FW to 1.85.  I ran the update and things looked encouraging.

Then went back and loaded the microSD with the nds.dsq and nds.sav files for Mario Kart (converted using 2.66 of the SC rumble pro version).  The regular load screen appears and then I end up with the directory in the top screen and the Super Card Rumble screen on the bottom.

Under LIST I see the Mario Kart game so I select and press A.  It gave me a load screen, followed by a quick flash of the nintendo logo, then black screens for a long time.  I ended up cycling power when nothing happened for a minute.

Now that I return to the LIST I see an additional file with the same prefix number on the Mario game ("0168") only now it's followed by "-m~1.dsq(in card)"

Now when I attempt to play the original file I get the blank white screens that I was getting whenever I tried to load a game prior to the successful firmware update.

Any ideas?

format your memory card and repatch the rom using RESTART OFF  enable PATCH CART ACCESS HIGH nothing else! ....most games on supercard slot 2 will work with these default settings  :)

copy both the .nds file and the .sav file to your mem card  .. a good tip here is have each game and save in its own folder so you can quickly remove just that game and save later on or backup both at the same time to the computer for later use :)

the file you describe at the top of the list is the  is usually QUICK RESTART save  ... this will ALWAYS be your last game played you can choose this to go immediately back into the last game you played instead of scrolling through the list to find it  ;)

Thanks much.  When you say "format your memory card" can you be more specific?  It is currently formatted as MS-DOS (FAT16).

For the saver patch properties should it be DS or SD?

Also, in the interest of full disclosure.  I'm doing all of this on a MacBook Pro, but doing the ROM conversions via Windows XP through VMWare.

Hi kkan,

Update:  I have gotten some of the games to work, but I'm still getting quite a few that load and then seem to get stuck on a black screen when I try to start it or play it.

Is it a game by game thing when it comes to properties?

which games??

some may need above settings+dma  some work with NO SETTINGS AT ALL  ...check the compatability thread on the forum for slot 2 cards it maby listed  ;)

try a search by game name or number :)

as far as formatting should go you right click on the mem card in MY COMPUTER  (if yer using vmware) and choose format FAT not FAT 32

in mac just format how you usually format a mem stick/card and choose FAT 16 which you seem to of done already  ;)

Save patch should be set to the SD card.  Otherwise it will attempt to save to whatever slot-1 cartridge you have inserted at the time.

Thanks for all of the help.  I'm now researching game by game and making very slow progress.  I'm also confused by the software options on the SC site.  I have a the SuperCard Rumble Lite, and am now running is V2.68 for SD RUMBLE PRO Version.  Should I really just be trying each optional setting and then testing...for each one?

Games I'm still having issues with seem to be:

0168 - Mario Kard DS (U)
0661 - Yoshi's Island DS (U)
0836 - Diddy Kong Racing DS (U)
1422 - My Sims (U)
1612 - Lego Star Wars (U)
1969 - Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (U)
2332 - Lego Indiana Jones (U)

default settings of RESTART ON and PATCH CART ACCESS to HIGH should work for most if not all games listed above :)
