currently i used to have a phat ps2 and that hd advance was the best ever, but now i have a slim and i heard that usb extreme is slower than the actual game cuz the sim still uses stupid usb 1.1. i dont want to install a modchip, fail the first time and i had to send my slim to sony to get a new one( a fake the receipts and warranty a label, im an expert at tha, LMAO!!!)  so now that i have it i dont know what to do play my backup isos and burn games, i would like to get the swap disc i dont mind swaping but i heard that the disc, the dvd one, stops working for like everyone that has it. and last the memor32, which i think its now drop since the official website is not there. anyhelp???  i still have the modbo 760 chip but i cant install it, any suggestion or services to install my chip on my slim?

got one recently and they work excellent ... using the memento firmware along with some elf boot files compatability is quite high about 98% as you can also use the swap magic elf with your fliptop disk and use the swap disk technique altho recent developments with the  ESR beta r7a boot elf files

inparticular the ESR beta r7a dvdv direct.elf some games that would previously not work with the MEMENTO firmware work great with the ESR beta r7a dvdv direct elf such as SINGSTAR etc

its not cheap the MEMOR32 but compared to an invasive warrenty busting hardware mod/modchip method its by far the safest route 

on the plus side you can a)backup your saves and b) works as a 32mb memory card too so loads more saves

thanx, i didnt know they had usb hdd support and also swap, thats awsome. so if i want to swap do i still need the slide tool or a fliptop? and whats the difference between run disc and swap? thanx kkan i appreciate, it looks like im gonna get this after all.

afaik you can still use the swap disk route blocking the sensors etc and the swapmagic elf with the memor32 card

Its only what I have read though as I dont use it myself so cannot comment further ...as I have the old PHAT style ps2 front loading drawer an everything I need so far works with the memor32 and memento hack and the elf mentioned above

one quick question, how do you run this swapmagic elf? i downloaded the 3.8 SW the unpack and pack version, whats the difference?

ive used my swapmagic disc for over 5 years without any problems theres only some high tock games that dont work with my original disc but i have a backup copy of swapmagic 3.1 i use to boot them

To install the ELF files :

For DEV3 mode, simply make a folder called BOOT on your memory stick and copy the files there.

For DEV1 mode, you need to browse to the folder where your savegames are stored in your PC (in a default installation of the Memor32 Save Game Manager this is usually C:\Program Files\Memor32\Ps2Saves\).

Just make a new folder inside Ps2Saves and call it "BOOT".

You can now copy any elf file in there (plus any additional needed files, like roms for emulators) and the Memor32 save game manager will see is as a new savegame that you can easily restore to the memory card.

to load DEV mode 1 hold down R1 When booting your ps2 with your memor32 in slot 1

i just wanna ask bout that memor32, coz i also hav 32mb memory card but it dont have usb port, then i found this 'PStwo memory card to PS3' adapter which can also be used to connect ur memry card to ur pc...question is can it also run .elf files? i already hav a copy of usbadvance, but cant use cd's on my ps2 coz i already hav removed its lens after a few replacements (coz it always burn out, too expensive), so i switch to HDDs..

i have a slim type...and a 32mb card, i just wna know if i can also run usbadvance boot disk via mem card even though it's not memor32? the files would fit the mem card, i think it has only 5mb..

well yes and no, it doesn  connect directly to the memory card. i have a ps2 to ps3 usb adapter and i can also connected to the pc, but i cant access it because there is no drivers for the adapter. so i dont know what to do, is there  a way to just open it up and create the usb connection myself?

I doubt it very much ..and I would not have a clue where to start to even think about adding a usb port to it 

you maybe able to copy the files off a memor32 once its been hacked with memento firmware onto your other 32mb card using the ps2 card to card but no ideas if it would even work??
