The symptoms are a little different then the classic fuse problem.

When I turn on the DS the green light comes on, however there is no click from the speaker or flash from the screen and the green light stays on until I turn the power switch off.  So basically I turn on the DS the green light comes on and nothing else happens.

My son drop the DS while playing with it yesterday.  However it did work for a good hour after the drop.  And he was successful in turning it on and off a few times before it died.  There are no visible cracks or breaks.

Because the above symptoms are slightly different then the classic fuse symptoms,  do  think it could be a fuse problem?  Also I bought the DS from Wal-Mart, 9 months ago, would it be still under warranty? (In Canada)  How long does the DS warranty usually last?

Thank you,

Stewart

It doesn't seem like a simple fuse problem to me.  It could be a problem with the magnetic switch inside the unit located near the Start and Select buttons?  This should be covered under Nintendo's 1 year replacement warranty.  Call the number on the back of your DS.
