new cheat bundle for 2156 game taken from chinese R4.dat........

all the .scc files are in chinese at the moment but the .cht is supplied so you will have to open the .cht with notepad & translate with google translate to see what they do until i can work through them & convert them to english

ahh.. if those are from the files i posted yesterday they will be chinese.

i tried using the usercheat.dat from gbatemp (narins) and had problems with the auto renaming tool with it erroring, it only seems to work on the .dat files pulled from that 4mb chinese usercheat.dat file that came with the files I posted.

i have no clue how to get round the problem, apart from renaming all the dats pulled from narins .dat file manually :(... though for sc slot-2 cheats the names are fine without the re-namer tool... since the slot-2 software uses the ?'header number'? rather than the release number.

edit... if you extract the .cht's from narin's latest dat file, and remove the following 3 .cht files,

1) A3TX_ebfe66a3.cht
2) YCME_c6e7758b.cht
3) YDMP_c6321e36.cht

you can then use the renaming exe without error... but it doesn't change the names to the relevant numbers; instead it names them to something resembling the game name... i guess this is because of the way the cheats are edited in the big dat file.

ive started to "google translate" them & ive done the first 100 & ill try to do 100-200 a day until there all done

From further investigation i see the renamer looks at the 'game title' in the .cht file and the the first four characters. With the chinese .cht files the 'game title' has the release number... ie 0056Mario64ds for example if it was english.

Narins dat file only has the names for 'game titles' without the first four characters being the release number.... so, editing every games 'game-title' using R4cce.exe would cure the problem but still be tedious :(  .. unless theres another way to rename the files automatically using just the game-id code.

dam, so close but so far.

excuse double post....

Renaming is not needed!! ... deleted 0434.scc (NSMB) and replaced with A2DE77DAD131.scc (NSMB) made from narins big cheat file and the supercard picked up the cheat no problem, so big usercheat.dat -> .scc is go :)

Just to double check i deleted A2DE77DAD131.scc from the mem card (in the scshell\cheat folder) and no cheat file was found, so it's definatley finding it and using it.

Um, so should I delete the 0001.scc etc.?

These new .sccs are mighty confusing lol.

i agree, and also have this same question.

@PanzerWolf, onekelly

why would you need to delete anything all my cheats are numbered

onekelly

I wasnt sure if they would conflict with each other. I know very little about how the cheats work, and didn't want to cause issues (even though i rarely use them).

PanzerWolf

Sorry, I was looking at Narin's converted cheat files.

And they are like AzTs_hsYsdjk.scc

So I am confused =(

So can we use narin's cheats as they are? I mean, do we need to rename them all to their respective release number?

Thanks
