hi i bought a supercard CF to GBA adaper second hand.
i have formatted the cf card to FAT and put a game on it. when i put the supercard in mij gameboy advanced sp it says the following
Quotenot find the CF Please turn off GBA
and if i try the test i get the following:
Quotetest SRAM
SRAM ok!

test sdram
sdram ok!

Test flash
flash id ok!
flash ok!

test CF
CF error:
error code:05 CF state:50

now SC version:1.44

how can i fix my supercard cf?

jmr

what size CF card are you using?? if its over 2GB you need to format it in a different way (FAT with 64k cluster from the CMD prompt)
can you test a different CF card in it? if you can & you get the same result your supercard is probably dead :ticked:

the size of the cf card is 128 mb. and i cant try with an other card. i would be really pist off if my supercard is dead because i couldnt even use it.
does anyone know a shop where you can buy a supercard sd in holland?

jmr

Quotedoes anyone know a shop where you can buy a supercard sd in holland?
if your going to buy a new cart for your GBA i would not advise any of the supercard range as they have slowdown in a lot of games
my advise would be to get a dedicated GBA flashcard like (EFA-Linker, EZ-Flash III, EZ Flash Advance, X-ROM) or if your going to get a NDS down the line get a ez-flash 4 as these play GBA roms better & also play NDS roms

how is the real time clock with the ez-flash 4?
what is the need of the real time clock?

hartleyshc

iirc the ez-flash iv does not have a real time clock. the only games that used the real time clock were the pokemon games, but the clock is simply disabled and all time oriented events are disabled if the real time clock is not found.

its not that big of a deal though since you can still beat pokemon without the real time clock, its just certain events *if youre going for 100%* wont happen without the real time clock.

out of all of the cards jmr listed, i think the xrom is the only one with a real time clock. get an ez-flash iv though, they are cheap, and allow you to load off of mini sd cards.

jmr

i think you can ips patch the pokemon games for real time clock
also if you can find some were that still sells the old M3 adapters they had the real time clock built in http://www.m3adapter.com/

so the real time clock function is for games wich you have to give the time in? like Pokémon Crystal? where you have to give the time and date?

Crystal is a GBC game and thus has nothing to do with the existence of an RTC on the GBA flash cart.  Lameboy does have support for the RTC I believe, so you should be able to play Crystal fine.  As for the GBA Pokemon games, Ruby and Sapphire can be IPS patched to fake an RTC whenever the game is playing, but Emerald cannot as far as I remember.

what i couldn't find was what type of sd card you have to put in. sd, mini sd, micro sd?
the first, second of third of the picture?

the EZ-Flash IV is the best choice for me? i just want to use it for my gameboy advances sp

dantheman

If you're getting the standard GBA-size EZ-IV, then I believe (not entirely certain) that you should use MiniSD.

pjotrvdh

i have my EZ-Flash IV and it workes perfect. thanks for your advice!
