Well, it arrives tomorrow but I'm calling myself a new owner. I understand that all I have to do is get the latest firmware and install it. That goes on to my SD card correct? Also I found that cool language fix in the sticky. Then I'm able to just put my DS games directly to my SD card and play.

I'm also getting the EZ 3 in 1 to play GBA games. I'm sort of unfamiliar with this. I understand that it has a small amount of built in memory and that it will take games from the slot 1 memory card and play them. So I just need to put the GBA games on to the memory card, turn on the patcher or whatever, and play? How do the saves work? Do they get sent to the memory card and is there savestates like the slot 1 has?

Sorry if any of that is confusing, I'm just trying to be as prepared as possible for tomorrow when I get it.

First of all congratulations on your purcahse of you SCDS:ONE!

You are correct just download the OS software from the website and place the contents on your MicroSD card, then you just place you DS games and homebrew onto your card, and you select them for them to run.

the 3in1 requires you to download a DS file that interacts with it, as SuperCard do not support it natively. Then you just place your GBA games onto your MicroSD card and then run the DS file. Depending on what loader you choose will depend on how saves are managed, but when a GBA game is placed on the 3in1, the card behaves as if it was a proper cart of that game. The save of the game is stored locally on the 3in1 until you back it up with the game.

It sounds as you know where to get these files, so I won't bother providing links.

I hope that helps clear things up

Great. Thank you for your response, should help me out a lot. I will let you know how it goes. Hopefully I can catch UPS before I have to go to work.

The name of the software you'll need to manage the 3in1 is called GBA ExpLoader, and it automatically patches games so that they save normally.  You shouldn't have to manually patch very many GBA games at all, and if you do it will mostly be things like the Pokemon RTC patches, trainers, etc.

There are two other programs that can work in place of GBA ExpLoader, but for the most part they're not as polished (or don't work on newer 3in1s as is the case with NDStation).

Ah bummer. I didn't think EZ 3 in 1 had RTC. Are the pokemon patches for that readily available or are they a part of the loading program?

I did just receive my carts and they work. Its amazing! One question, at boot up I can see at the top I can see Savesize, Special, Option, and Help. I can't figure out how to get to them though.

Pokemon RTC Patch is easily avaliable (Although there isn't a patch for Emerald as far as I know) and a quick google search should land you in the right place. (Most GBA patchers should do the RTC patch)

To access the menus at the top you need to switch the screens (why they are there by default with no button presses to access them is beyond me) to do this press L+A

you can press R + Dpad to navigate the top screen then R + right to choose what you want :D

Awesome. Thank you for all the tips and info. I'll be a SC DSone pro in no time.

Yeah, good job writing that. The only thing that kind of sucks I noticed is with some skins the top menu will overlap with text. Not a big deal though. Still a great job though.

I am thinking of buying a SuperCard sometime. Its one of the only cards I haven't used yet.
Visit neschncardreviews.tk for some amazing flashcard reviews... Done by me!

To use all kind of skins, with or without text on top menu, just do a simple thing.

You have to edit the language ini and create a new language, for exemple the english*.

In this new language don't put anything in translation for, those 4 lines :
menusaverstr=
menuotherstr=
menuoptionstr=
menuhelpstr=

So if the skin have text on scmenu menu you have to use the english* if the skin don't have any text on it you have to use the english.

simple ^^.
