How long should the DS lite last with the SC DS one? It just feels like mine isn't lasting very long and I want to make sure I'm not having trouble with the battery itself.

I'd set my DS Lite with a level 1 -lowest- brightness and a minimun level of sound (if not mute) and it gave me a 12-to-15 hours of entertainment :D lol

FYI, I bought mine on Jan '08
Spec :
Supercard DS One SDHC SP5 (2 GB memory)
Supercard Lite latest fw (1 GB memory)

I had mine on the default setting which I assume is the brightest. I switched it to the lowest(not off but the lowest). Let's see if this will no extend my battery life.

Battery life is vastly increased by using the lowest setting.
The DSOne shouldn't have much of an effect on battery life, unless you're using programs that tend to tax the CPU.

Turning down the brightness setting didn't really fix anything. I think I'm going to go exchange the DS tomorrow considering I got it less than a month ago. Also the left shoulder buttons semi-sticks. I figure if I'm going to put $130 into something it might as well be perfect in my standards.

Went and exchanged the DS and I think I will be much happier with this one. The shoulder buttons don't stick and the D-pad feels firmer. Now we shall see if it makes a difference with the battery life.

Edit: Also I notice that when I open the DS it no longer makes a clicking noise when it sets into place. I wonder if this is a later model possibly, or an older one. I'm not sure how to tell when it was manufactured.

Edit 2: Another difference I noticed is that the temps are extremely different. On the old DS it would range from 13C-20C. On this new DS it idles at 27C. Is that an acceptable temp or did I get another lemon?

@mrspoon
I think the temp is ok
I got mine at 27-30C too since the day I bought it
till now, it's nothing wrong

btw, how's the battery life? I dunno if it didnt work out on u
but mine can only last for 6-8 hours with level 4 brightness and max volume
in other point, level 1 brightness combined with a muted sound give me one day or more.

FYI I'm charging my DS Lite almost every night and never had low battery before it's time to sleep

It just drained the factory charge yesterday and I let it charge over night. I will let you know how long this charge lasts for. I will be playing it on the second to lowest bright setting and either muted to half max sound.

I've been playing the heck out of Trauma Center and kind of sad that I'm already almost through the game.

Well after my battery test, it lasted just under 8 hours. That's disappointing but nothing I can do about it I guess.
