I heard some DSONE owners got the "psram error" problem.

There is a simple way to fix this problem by yourself.

1. Use a screw open the DSONE.
2. Use a metal(a key or screw), shortcut the two foot of the battery for a second.
3. close the DSONE.

It has been fixed.

How to check the psram is ok or not?
Hold L+R+UP and open power, DSONE enter self-test program, press A button to test the hardware.
If all OK, that mean the psram error had been fixed.

Updated FAQ to include this. Thanks Jmr for posting this.

I've just noticed romman has added some images to his guide for fixing the psram error which will help some people...........

I've had two scdsones with psram errors over the years but luckily i've just sent them back & got replacements (DX & supercardstore) :smitten:

First of all, I'm new so hello!  :)

I post on GBAtemp and Pocket Heaven (among others). I recently got a Supercard DS-ONE, so felt compelled to join here. But I didn't post on this thread for the sole intention of introducing myself. I can confirm that this process romman came up with works!  ;D

I had the PSRAM error. I tried the "paper" trick (open the card and put paper between the card and label) with no success. But I was able to fix it by squeezing the card lightly with the microSD inside. Apparently, even that technique wasn't good enough.

So at my wits end (and not wanting to wait for Dealextreme for a replacement), I cracked and tried this method of shorting the battery and it worked! I don't know how permanent this is, but thus far, I haven't been able to get a PSRAM error no matter what I do! ;D

I just wanted to confirm that this works.

Good to know, thanks.

Unfortunately this is not a permanent solution. I tried this fix yesterday, and it did work, i played for hours without a problem.
But today i get psram error again, after playing for half hour.

Can anyone tell me how frequent is this error?
I want to get a replacement, but if this is a frequent error, then I'll switch to another brand.

I tried it too and am getting the error again. It worked for a day then I had to do the process again. This sucks big time.  >:(

I've got 2 cards, one original SC DS One and SC DS One SDHC, never had this problem (thankfully)

It's weird. I've gone 3 days without the PSRAM error. I combined the paper trick with the battery shorting technique. I've also not removed the Supercard from the DS or unplugged the DS from the charger.

well done!! but would it not have been easier just to send the cart back when you discovered the psram error

to fix my psram error i first peeled off my dsone sticker and then took it apart then cut the plastic where the psram was then put it back together got some heatsink paste put a thin layer on a piece of foil which was cut in the shape of the sticker then pressed the foil on the chips that were shown and i havent had a psram issue since which is sweet and i seen where i played and the temp said it got to 33 or so degrees
