ITS WORKING AT LAST!! HAHA 

that connector flicks upwards from the back, then you have to feed the little flat wire in and push it back down.
it was a real pig to get in, I had to disconnect the screen completely so I could get a good angle to push it in, then i just pushed the clip back down.

if anyone needs any advice about DS Lite repairs I am now a world expert.
I`ve had this one in bits so many times I can put it back together in minutes now and I know where all the connections are.
Not bad considering 2 months ago I didn`t have a clue

yeah I was surprised too with my PHAT how easy it was
