I went with what I had. I had a 256mb sd card from my PDA and a 64mb CF from a PDA before my last one... so I went SD.

DS roms don't show up in GBA mode. Are you in GBA mode for some reason while looking at your DS roms?

Could well be, how do i select DS or GBA mode?

EDIT: worked it out, doh. i thought the Castlevania intro was working now with the latest firmware?? My skips alot is this usual?

GBA mode is when you boot up your DS normally and select a GBA game.

To use your DS in DS mode with super card you either need a pass me (v1 or v2) or you need to install flashme and hold ABXY when the system turns on.

CF version aparently works perfectly, but still issues with SD version.
Seems to be a few perks of having the CF ver at the mo, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we catch back up!

When I ran a benchmark on a Kodak 256MB CF card & a 256MB Kodak SD card, the differences in speed were MAJOR, in favor of the SD card. I own one 256MB CF and two 256MB SD, so I went for the SD version of the SC.

That speed benchmark is of course load/write time. I can't remember the specific numbers, but I do remember a big difference. It was like 20kb a sec on the CF, while it was like 660kb a sec on the SD, if I remember correctly.

I'm sure the incompatibilities of some games on SD are just software & firmware related, and perhaps the SD will come out on top in the end. All I know is that it is damn fast in transferring romfiles, and I have no real issues on this end with most of the games I play. And, I really do not experience much slowdown at all in almost every game I tried. Very very slight slowdown in the Super Mario (GBA) titles, but not enough to distract from gameplay. All in all, the SD/SC is one fantastic card.

super mario GBA (and ALL GBA) are not affected by what card you have in the supercard.  CF, SD, High speed, low speed.. whatever.

for GBA mode, the SD/CF is ONLY used when initially loading the rom, and for a couple of seconds when doing a real time save or saving sram to SD/CF (L+R+select+A).

the game is running off the supercard's hynix SDRAM and this is where slowdown comes from. just to clarify for zektor.
