Naming your micro sd card on Supercard Lite

I'm not sure if this has been addressed, but it would seem that the name of your card makes a difference whether you have errors or not. I have cards for different things, i.e. gba games, rpg's, etc. I label the disks accordingly on the computer, and I have found that they must follow FAT rules. 8 char. max, no special characters, and all the rest. Otherwise, games won't load, they'll freeze up, and all those other nasty problems you get. Some will work fine, but only some.

That doesn't sound right.  I've got plenty of DS and GBA files on my card, and nearly all of them go beyond the 8.3 naming convention.  Special characters might cause a problem, but long filenames should be handled fine.

I'd suggest copying the data off your card and then reformatting.  See if that fixes the issue.

Nope. I had a 9 letter name for one, and some games had lockup problems. Most notably, FF3 and Legacy of Kage 2. I renamed it. Only 4 letters this time, and problem solved. Without any other changes. Oh, and gba saving, too. Blackthorne wouldn't keep a save after turning off the system. I've seen where this has happened to others. this might be why.

For the time I had the Supercard Lite my naming style was

Release number - Name.nds.dsq

It was absurdly long and it still worked... Don't know about Kage, but FF3 worked fine.

I meant the actual card itself. You know how you can change 'Local Drive' for C:
to whatever you want? That's what I meant by card name.

Ooooh, that.  Yeah I've never experimented with changing the actual card's name, so I never came across this issue.  Good to know, thanks for reporting the issue.
