I can dldi patch and play faangband 0.3.6 on my SCSD but not on my SC-Lite. Is the SC-Lite dldi patch known to be buggy with some homebrew? I have tested my micro-SD and it is fine.

You can try using SCSD_moon.dldi or Barni's SC Rumble DLDI file (which works on non-Rumbles as well).

Will do. I did try the scsd dldi, but it was a no-go.

The rumble dldi did the trick. This is the the first homebrew I have ever had this problem with.
