Hi All,
I just got my super card from dx & I got a 4 gig sd card formated to FAT(man how come their is no support for FAT32 at this stage?? is it EVER gona happen??) I also have the latest firm on the card,is their default layout one has to conform to?? ive put about 500 gba files in a folder I am aware that you can only have 128 files in the root of the sd card but when go in to the menu all i see is about 64 files or 8 pages? so do I have to make lots of folders with 64 files in each? thanks for reading :)

I have heard differing opinions about the use of cards over 2gigs. Some say no, others say yes, however depending on it is not SDHC memory. And please don't ask me what that is I have no idea.

I should be getting my SuperCard from Deal Extreme any day too. And I am a new owner, but I thought you could have 99 files per folder, but I may be wrong. But no matter what the number is, you just have to have multiple folders.

I had my card working for about a week and then it went bad. Like I said I am a new user. But have read alot about them.

I would like to have an actual witness to getting the 4 gig cards to work, I would try it myself.

Thanks for the reply :) its def a NON SDHC(i did my homework first) here is the link to it and it works all ya gota do is make sure you format it to FAT hxxp://www.memorybits.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=8144&popup=true i like this card so much im getting 2 more one for my wii and other one for dsi as its non SDHC as far as i know......ok lots of foders it is so :) also just like to add super card plays ds files way better than i expected :) also SDHC is the format used for micro sd cards it can go up as far as 32 GIGS the cards used in supercard slot 2 are NON SDHC only which is a bit of a shame really hopefully they will release a newer version with SDHC support although with the dsi having no slot 2 :( its unlikely........

Yeah you are going to need to make alot of folders as for making a card with SDHC support I highly doubt it mainly because if they wanted to it would have been done by now (The slot 2 Supercards are pretty old) And as for the DSi I think it supports SDHC I am not sure though although the SuperCard DS One supports SDHC.

rommy667

Yep the current supercard for slot 1 is indeed SDHC,but im gona wait for a dsi compatable version and then buy one straight away, appearently they have blocked the acekard 2i in the up comeing euro/usa dsi :(  and dsi is SDHC? if so awesome........

Oops I am looking for the Mini SD non SDHC or a micro.

Some say that even an 8GB exists:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-317767.html

There are even 8gb non sdhc cards out. I have not tried them but people who report that they work just fine.
however this isn't for the SuperCard they are talking about.

Folks seem to say that the Micro is rare, some say they don't exist:

4GB non-SDHC microSD cards are rare as well. from the above link.

But mini's exist:

I know there are 4GB miniSD cards that are non-SDHC, because I have one,

And here is one for sale:
https://www.emartbuy.com/products.php?prodid=184

I found the same one on Ebay, but am looking for cheaper prices.

http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/f82/samsung-develops-8gb-microsd-card-22314.html

states:

Yes, there are lots of non-SDHC 4 GB cards. Those are the only ones that work in existing devices. They're only available in SD and MiniSD, though, no 4 GB MicroSD cards.

So I don't know if the Mini is available. No sign of one.

The next link is discussing the 4 GB on the R4:

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=132934&st=0

One person here:

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=56507&st=0&p=721448&#entry721448

states the SuperCard does support 4GB:

Yes, It actually supports non-SDHC cards up to 4 gigabytes.

another states:

many have used 4GB with success.

So I would love to find one for under $5.00 if anyone knows, Mini or Micro, though I doubt Mini exists.

-----

THEY EXIST!!!! I found them here:

http://www.memorysuppliers.com/inst4gbmised.html

Samsung 4GB miniSD Secure Digital

Also, these cards are NON-HC (High-Capacity) and will work with most of the devices that the 4GB miniSDHC do not work with.

But are $30.00...

Not interested at that price but am interested in telling folks that say they don't exist that they do exist!

Found the link to it from here:

As for DSi SD Support Check this out
    *  Allows for expansion of the devices storage capabilities
    * SD cards are industry standard and cheap
    * Many new computers have built in readers for these cards
    * Music and photos can be dropped onto the SD on a PC for playback on the DSi
    * Apparently does not use a custom formatter - so you should be able to take an SD card from your camera, etc. and look at the pics on your DS (in theory)
    * SDHC Support! New!
    * GB/GBA games can apparently be stored AND run from SD New!
That was the pros list from the SD Card slot on the DSi at the DSR website. It says SDHC support and they usually know what they are talkin about.

I may have found one I would like to try:

http://cgi.ebay.com/4N-4GB-MINISD-SD-CARD-4G-FIT-NOKIA-N80-QTEK-O2-XDA-SDA_W0QQitemZ260293201053QQihZ016QQcategoryZ51071QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

only $8.00!

make that $14  ...

$8 +$5.99 shipping for something that probably costs the same as normal letter post! ie a few cents/pennies whatever your loose change currency is!

suggest keep looking for cheaper postage or free postage otherwise your almost buying a second card just in postage! :(

DomaGB

yeah I saw that afterwards. and it did put me off. I actually had logged onto Ebay to make the purchase and saw the shipping price.

However, that will probably be the cheapest in existance since they are a rare animal anywho.

More than likely I will buy a 4gb Micro or more 2 GB. Looking for cheap 4GB Micro's now. But I really wanna stick with Mini's so I am still tempted.
