SuperCard price drops yet again!

As if to make the decision to not buy a different flash card, they lowered the price of the SuperCard yet again. And like last time, they lowered it right after I made my purchase.

The new price is only $13.93 (with free shipping!):

However I am waiting on the supplier again. And they owe me store credit. I made a request to be given the new price. We'll see if it happens or not.

Well I got the new one in today. And either it was in Chinese or it had the same problem as my 1st one. However the 1st one worked in English and changed later. This one was in garbled language immediately.

You can change to English if you have a Chinese one:

At the startup screen, click the third one from the left. A menu should appear. Then click the third one down and select English.

There was no 3 choices on the menu.

And when upgrading the firmware the GBA no longer recognized the SuperCard like the 1st one I had. I went from 1.85 to 1.85.

Again I think this is a bad card and not really chinese, too many symptoms as such. returning it ASAP.

That post is talking about the Supercard DS, not slot-2 Supercard.

Ah, so the regular SuperCard, doesn't switch over. So more evidence it was simply another bad card.

I bought two of these cards and the first one arrived not working and it was changed by DX. The replacement was good so I bought another one (I have two sons and two GBA).
The second one worked fine for two months (or 1 month, I bought it in February and I received it in March), but after this time the menu and all the characters became only in Chinese. After some days the card stopped to work, and also the firmware update is not possible. If I use the erase flash software there is a flash memory error so I'm going to ask a replacement to it ...


Me & veka8 had the exact same problem as you rorice except with our brand new Supercards! That font is not Chinese. I know a little Chinese & that font you saw is not it. It's just a bug/defect.

Well, I'm massively disappointed!! D:

My Supercard menu was displaying everything in gibberish in the Supercard menu. I don't know why but I couldn't see what games or folders I was opening due to everything being totally unreadable.

So, to try & fix this I downloaded the latest firmware for my Supercard from the Supercard official site. I ran it & installed it &... it bricked my Supercard!!

I'm totally annoyed & I'll be sending the card back for a refund or replacement asap!!


the exact same thing happened to me today. i think im gonna cry. what am i supposed to do? how can i send it back for replacement and things? :'(

I had the same problem as you. It wasn't in Chinese, it was just nonsense. It also wouldn't load GB games. I didn't send mine back immediately though. I went to the Supercard site & updated the firmware (you are supposed to do this) but that killed it.

These folks had the same problem as me, it becomes bricked if you put in new firmware, but you can't use it because its gibberish if you don't. I have had the pleasure of having 2 bad SuperCards now.

For the record, this is a relatively new issue.  A year ago these types of issues were exceedingly rare, which is why we don't really have much experience with troubleshooting it.

Looking to warn peeps, not troubleshoot. sending it back.

It can't be too rare, if 2 out of 3 Supercards I owned had this problem.

Perhaps since they dropped the prices, they been cutting corneres, and have more failures out there.

The new one came in today, and it works great.

Will buy another one down the road. Hopefully it won't be another bad one again. 50% success rate here.

I have to retract the above statement. It worked for a few days like my original, and went into garbled text. So I am at a 25% success rate. I sent in a request for replacement.

I agree.  I have never experienced that with my SuperCard.  I've been very happy with mine thus far.

Ive had mine for a while now and its perfect never had 1 problem with it i love it :)
