Gamestop is having a deal that if you trade in your DS Lite towards a DSi you will get 70 dollars for it. Will they accept a DS if it has a custom housing on it?

Doubtful as most places need the original serial number to do the deal ... I had problems in the UK trying to trade in a DS PHAT  a while back pre DSi deals it was in mint condition as it had just come back from Nintendo due to cracked hinge it had a brand new case fitted and a new touch screen it was spotless when I got it back but minus the original serial number just a blank area where its supposed to be printed on to it :(

After I found out that they could not take it with no serial I rang Nintendo and they gave me the serial over the phone but the game store still wouldn't take it even with the serial provided it has to be on the console itself as it was originally :(

Same thing happened when I sent a DS LITE with a busted hinge to be re cased under warrenty by NINTY it came back with NO SERIAL so cannot trade it in it SUX! :(

You may get the same problem if they need that serial to log it in the till for the trade in!

Well my sticker was transferred over and it was my original. I made sure that I kept it so maybe they will take it out. Supposedley the terms for the deal are that all the parts are there which they are and that it is in working order. Which it is.

fingers crossed then if it has your original sticker on it with the original serial!

if they question the casing just act dumb and say that's how you bought it new! ;)

"Why does it have the clear housing?"
"Well I bought one from WalMart and it was just rocks wrapped in Chinese newspaper, so when I got another one it was like this"
