Well I've got $250 saved up for my ZuneHD. But my girlfriend's brother let me play around with his ipod touch the other day and I kinda liked it. Especially with with wifi and email and web browsing. I'm extremely tempted to get one but I heard Apple was going to announce the 3rd gen touches soon. Should I just wait around a lil longer to see what surfaces??

Wait 1 or 2 weeks or so, Apple usually does announcements near this date. I've heard that the new iPod Touch has a camera, and I hope it has the 3GS hardware, if it does I'll probably end up buying one myself, even if I already have a 1st gen.

Sept 12th (this weekend) I believe is the date of the unveiling of the new iPod Touches.

Why, the iPod has a TON of games and apps and since u can easily hack the iPod, u can get them all for free.

Well, the new iPods were kinda dissapointing, and the Nano getting a camera but the Touch not? They've also removed the 16gb version, and the 8gb version has the old hardware. Seems the 32gb and 64gb both have the new processor, but there aren't any confirmations on this. For now I see no reason to upgrade to the 3rd gen, my 1st gen is still working perfectly. The Zune HD is looking pretty good, that Tegra processor, 720p output, OLED 16:9 screen, as a dedicated PMP I think it looks a lot better than the new iPod Touch.

Ya, hackability is usually my determining factor as to whether or not I buy something such as this. But in this case, that Tegra processor and OLED screen is too hard to ignore. Plus an "apps" marketplace, I'm pretty sure itll get some decent games and get hacked eventually

That ipod nano with the camera looked kinda interesting lol. My gf has the last gen nano and its small. Kinda kool to have a cam that size for snapping quick pics. Then again' I've heard rumors that it doesnt even take still pics, just video. Is that true?

Yeah, the new Nano doesn't take photos, it just records video. Anyway, it's just a VGA camera, almost any cellphone now has something similar, most of the times much better.

Ya makes no sense to me, it would seem people would get MUCH more use from a still camera in the NANO rather then motion only. You would think if the damn thing was capable of recording videos the same camera could take a still shot too. Odd stuff.

Theoretically, the camera is capable of shooting stills, but Apple decided not to because they would be very low quality shots, it seems every Apple product follows that, if it can't be made while looking good, don't do it at all.
