I'm having trouble forwarding my router. I have a Netgear WNR 2000 and Norton Internet Security 2009. Everytime i check to see if my ports are open, for some reason they are always closed. I'm trying to forward Warcraft 3. My current settings are: Warcraft 3
           TCP Start     6112
                  End      6112
                              IP

Disable norton. Then check your modem, this was my issue with portforward routing, something like setting it for gaming mode.

I have a westell wirespeed as a modem and i can't access it.
192.168.1.1 doesnt work in accessing my modem, router fine (same for below)
My default gateway also won't work. Norton is disabled, but the ports are still closed.

Find the port forwarding section of your router.

The IP field should be the local IP of the machine you want to play warcraft 3 on.  For example a router is sometimes something like this 192.168.0.1 and the internal ips of the computers connected to it (on the same subnet (192.168.0.xxx)) are 192.168.0.123 and 192.168.0.169...

If your playing the game on .169, set it like this:
Warcraft 3
           TCP Start     6112
                  End      6112
                  IP        192.168.0.169

I was reading and apparently, my ip is supposed to be 10.0.0.X but its not. I have 192.168.1.2. Does that matter?

The 192.168.x.x and 10.0.0.x are examples of private IP's. Your PC is assigned 192.168.1.2 on your local network by your router/DHCP. Your router is assigned one public IP by your service provider. That public IP is how the outside world sees your local network.
