Super Card Mini SD in Chinese!

I have a super card MINI SD for my micro. It wasn't working so I (owning a NES) blew into the cartridge and the slot on the GBA to try to fix it. Well it works, but now all the headers (i.e. Saver, settings....etc.) are in English except for the last one. Also, the stuff on my Mini SD card is in chinese. I tried booting up Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past with Four Swords...and it worked! I want it to be in English again, but I don't want to brick it like I've heard other people have.

If anyone has a solution I'd really appreciate it!

If you have the problem I had, and you can read 2-3 threads I had on the subject. Its not actually chinese, but just messed up pixels. I did alot of research on this, and someone who could read chinese said it wasn't.

Its just a messed up Supercard.

If you have the same problem that is. And there have been cases, where the SuperCard went bad slowly. I had one working for a week before it went bad. And my sons and I were able to get it working for a short time before it went totaly bad. Restarting it, taking it in and out. Pushing different buttons, going in and out of folders in the menu, and so on. It was a temorary fix until it went bad.

No one has any fix for it. But if you bought it somewhere that has a return policy, then return it. I returned 2 with this problem. However I had to show them I researched a solution before they would give the go ahead. So link the threads I have on the subject to the seller, for evidence that you tried, but there is no fix.

Reputting in the firmware will indeed brick it, if you have this problem. However if you have accidentaly put in chinese firmware, then you dont have this problem. But if its slowly going from English to messed up pixels, then its not a chinese firmware issue. cause if that were the case, it would be chinese all the time.

There also is the problem of game menu's and games running in a foreign language (not the SuperCard menu's themselves). This can be solved by simply holding in the left shoulder button when restaring the game (not supercard) which may bring up a language selection screen. But this is for certain games, not all games, and not a SuperCard issue. And I am not certain its the left shoulder button, its been awhile.

This issue of bad SuperCards is a relitively new issue, and is due to bad production I think of new cards. They have dropped the price twice in the last 6 months. The cheaper production must be making some bad product I think.

Thanks, it now just says that there is no SD card inserted when there is (in garbled language of course).

I bought it from Deal Extreme, and I've looked at your topics and I think you said you did too. Can you tell me what you said?

yeah if the SuperCard goes bad and then you reinstall the firmware, the GBA will no longer recognize it. Effictively bricking the SuperCard.

If you contact Deal Extreme telling them you have a bad card, they will ask you to search the forums and elswhere to find a fix, before authoring the return. You can bypass that if you link them several threads on the subject and copy and paste some of the material on those threads. Telling them there is no fix, and others have came across this problem. DealExtreme has many products and guess many employees, and may not know of this issue.

I found them to be a bit slow, but true to their word. Use some of these links:

If you tell them this right away, chances are they will get the ball rolling right away. Saving you a few days or a week. Then hopefully they will have one in stock. twice out of 3 orders, I had to wait. The one I just got came right away. But right away meant almost a month, from Hong Kong. But before my sons BDay!
