Hello, after the 1.53 firmware update Mario 64 (all versions) does not work from my Supercard any longer (both white screens).

Has anybody else using a SD Supercard overcome this problem and got it working?

Or is it just a small price we have to pay for the big improvements in the latest version of the firmware?

It would be nice to know, thanks.

Well I ran all my clean dumps back through the new patcher to save space on my SD card and Mario 64 works fine.  I think you have to have the 0022 (EU) ROM for it to work though.

mario 64 (E) works fine for me with 1.53 firmware.  supercard SD

had an issue when i re-patched 0022 with the newest software.  I quote myself, from the DS compatibility forum:

Quote from: "sneef"ok. here's the deal.

For the 0022 version of Super Mario 64:  If you patch it with the newest patcher, 2.431, it will NOT WORK. but if you have a version you patched with 2.42, it will work, and it WILL boot without a cart in the DS slot, as long as you have firmware 1.53 on your SC.

This is what I've found for the supercard SD.

strange, but it's the way it works.

so i guess the feature of booting without a cart has more to do with the firmware than the software.

Thank you all, especially sneef for quoting his previous post (which I should have found when I searched), I patched the file with the old version of the software and it now runs ok with the new firmware, even without a cart in the DS slot (just as sneef mentioned).

I tried to find an answer by myself using the forum search function before posting a question but I was not able to narrow the results down properly, I am sure to get better in the future.

Again, cheers to everyone who replied.
