OK so now on with the review ....

For this review I will be testing using my DSi (at the time of starting this review is on firmware 1.2E)

I will be Installing the Kernel/Loader files from the Ezflash website link

The current official loader is Kernel 1.86H (stable release) ....There is also a beta version Kernel 1.90 openbeta11 and a v2.0 RC4

For my testing I will be using the 1.90 open beta 11 version some people find this better for all round compatability for most games/homebrew

loading

First you need to unpack the kernel zip file and copy/drag the contents over to your micro sd

(note you may also wish save time and make a folder on your mem card root folder at this point called CHT to put your EZARCODE.DAT cheats

file in)

As the loader is based on moonshell you can put your game roms pretty much anywhere on the mem card ..

This is what the EZflash interface looks like when loaded

For my review I will be testing several popular games and some commonly used homebrew

Games

Pokemon Diamond USA                     test results loads and WORKS fine
100 Classic Book Collection  EU          test results loads and WORKS fine
Mario Kart DS USA                           test results loads and WORKS fine (DMA must be turned off or game white screens)
Core                                              test results loads and WORKS fine
Starwars The Clone Wars                  test results loads and WORKS fine (DMA needs to be turned on or it wont save or                                                     work properly)
Army Men Soldiers Of Misfortune         test results loads and WORKS fine  (DMA needs to be turned on or it will not even load)
42 All Time Classics                          test results loads and WORKS fine
Sonic Chronicles T.D.B.H.                  test results loads and WORKS fine

(Note #1 If a game does not load try turning DMA on or off this usually fixes it!)

(Note #2 If your upgrading to this card or swapping over from another slot 1 card you need to put your save files from the old card into the SAVE

folder in your mem cards root folder or it will not see or be able to use them!)

Homebrew

Beup Live 0.5                                  test results loads and WORKS fine
Bunjaloo 0.76                                   test results loads but cannot enter any text keyboard pops up but cannot backspace or enter text!
GameUP                                          test results loads and works (needs DMA ENABLED or just hangs at AP connection a couple of times downloading or installing some homebrew it hung or froze not sure if its my connection or something else)

Still AliveDS V1.2                              test results loads and WORKS and plays fine

(Note #3 In the process of this testing I found a V2.0 RC4 of the EZ Flash loader this resolves a few of the game DMA issues although a lot of

the homebrew problems still remain!)

MY SCORES ON THE DOORS for the EZ Flash Vi Card are 7 out of 10....

It would of been higher scored if it had better homebrew support......But certainly not a bad card the bonus side is can be hacked now to

work with fimware 1.4 on the DSi so you can access the DSi store.

Prices  .... are around   $27.00 (£16.37)/(€18.96)   for the  EZ-Flash Vi Kit + 2 GB microSD Bundle   and $34.00 (£20.62)/(€23.87) for the same bundle with a 4gb micro sd (note: These prices do not include shipping please check before purchase as rates  often differ!)
