Hello, I just want to know whats the difference between the Supercard SC Lite and the Supercard Lite.
And are they better than the ezflash 3in1? I hate that thing

Edit: Okay, after long resaerch, I found out that the Supercard Lite, the cheaper one, has Rumble, but less ram, so I could not play the bigger GBA games.

But is the Supercard Lite SC better than the Ezflash 3 in 1? Because that one is crap, you need this GBAExploader, which does not what its supposed to half the time

If you use a EZVi with a 3 in 1 you dont need that gba exploer app at all as the control is built in to the firmware :) I own both slot 2 cards and imo the super card sd is the better because of the 4 gig sd card storage and you can play ds roms from slot 2 as a + :)

Quoteso I could not play the bigger GBA games.
you can not play any GBA roms on a rumble BIG or SMALL

The "Supercard SC Lite" would in theory be the same thing as the "Supercard Lite".  It's probably just a misnaming caused by a few online shops.  The only difference between Supercards of the same size is whether it's Rumble or not.  The Rumble cards have no RAM and are thus useless for GBA gaming, and there's really no reason to get one since you can get a more capable slot-1 device for the same price.  If you're going to get a slot-2 Supercard, you'd want the non-Rumble version.

However, the slot-2 Supercards aren't really all that great for GBA gaming anyway.  They have slow RAM, and because of this, some GBA games slow down or may lock up entirely when the game doesn't get its data fast enough.  You can't really use a slot-1 device to interact with them, meaning that everything is stored on the Supercard's microSD card, and all the GBA games that go on this will require patching with the Supercard patcher.  The only exception is if you have a slot-1 Supercard DS, which can load GBA games from the slot-1 microSD card to the slot-2 Supercard and launch them, but since saving doesn't work this way it's fairly useless.

If you're looking into a standalone slot-2 device, other possible options would include the EZ-IV and the M3 Perfect, if you can find them anywhere.

To add to Dantheman's list for playing gba games, the elilnk does a great job and is fairly cheap. I own the 512mbit version.

here are a few links to them

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.10369  this is the 512mbit $21.80

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13363  this is the 1gbit for $24.80

edit: well they are both sold out but they work well and this can give you some more to look for.

Okay, so, there are some answers^^

@rommy667

Yeah, I know the thing with teh ez flash 6 but i have a Super card DS One! My brother, too, and I bought him an ez flash 3 in 1 and he hates this crappy GBAExploader.

So I want to buy a better slot 2 card, and Its ONLY for playing GBA Games.

@jmr

Thats the reason I asked here before I bought one^^ Thanks, so the rumble version is cancelled.

@dantheman

Okay, then its a misnaming on dealextreme^^
The M3 perfect is unbelievably expensive, an the ezflash 4 uses miniSD, microSD is better, isnt it?
So when I buy that Supercard Lite, I have to put the Firmware from the site on the microSD and the games, like with the Supercard DS One, but the Lite has so few RAM that they often dont run correctly? What a crap...
And when I put the games on the Supercard DS One, and load to slot 2, I cannot save?

Pff, now Im even more confused than before. So, the Supercrad Lite is not a good Idea?

@onekelly

Thanks, but this one is amazingly small! 1 Giga bit, thats 128 Mega byte! No, that to small, I could be the last hope, yes, but no more^^ Thanks, anyway

The only real difference between miniSD and microSD is physical size.  Well, that and the fact that miniSD is slightly less supported, so it's a bit more difficult (but not at all impossible) to find deals on the cards.

The slot-2 Supercards can work just fine without copying "OS" files to your card like you do with the SCDS.  You just use the firmware file for upgrading - copy it to your card, launch it like a game, follow the instructions, and then you can delete the file off your card.

Regarding RAM, it's not the amount that's the issue, it's the speed.  GBA games need lightning-fast response times, since that's the way they were intended to run.  SD cards are not fast enough in the slightest, so the Supercard copies the game to faster RAM and launches it from there.  The issue is that the RAM used in the slot-2 Supercards is just a tiny bit too slow, and it causes slowdown issues with more intense games.  See http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/SupercardGBASlowdowns for more information.  The older, more traditional GBA flash carts used NOR flash instead of RAM for storing and launching GBA games, which uses less power but is more of a pain to work with (low capacity and slow flashing and the inability to truly delete from the card without reflashing the whole thing).  The Elink is a NOR-based cart, just for comparison.  The EZ-IV is unique in that it contains 16 MB of fast RAM (faster than the Supercard's) as well as 32 MB of NOR flash.  You should be familiar with this setup, since it's the same as the 3in1.  The difference is that you manage the files on your miniSD card from the EZ-IV interface rather than using GBA ExpLoader.  If you're curious, http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/NAND_and_NOR has some good reading material to help clarify what I'm talking about.

And yes, the SCDS has a feature to load a GBA file from your slot-1 microSD card to the slot-2 Supercard's RAM and launch it, but because saving doesn't work when you do this, it's not really useful at all.  You're better off patching the GBA games with the patcher software and putting them on the slot-2 SD card.  But again, I'd probably recommend the EZ-IV instead.

Okay, I searched a bit around the EZ flashs at Dealextreme, and there are 3, the normal; the middle, without an usb adapter; and the lite, the only one for the DS lite.
So, i should buy that one, the Ezflash 4 lite, not the supercard lite. But, before that, in need some money XD And, its sold out at the moment...

Thanks dantheman, and the others, I hope this one wil be better than the 3 in 1

i have a ez-flash 4 lite deluxe & it plays everything as far as i know with the ez-flash pc patcher (i bought mine just for lunar as my SCCF would not plat it)
you can use moonshell2 or just YSmenu to boot .gba roms nativly with the dsone/i or you can just use the ez-flash pc patcher (my preference)

gba size - http://www.realhotstuff.com/-c-124_58_109.html
