It may have taken a long time for Nintendo to lob back the homebrew volley that was hit towards them, but tonight they've finally done so. Wii system update 4.2 is available, and if you happen to download it, you can say goodbye to the homebrew channel, or any homebrew for that matter.

Some of you have reported problems with your Wii console after updating to the Wii System Menu 4.2.  The symptoms most people are describing usually occur when the Wii has been modified. However, some of you also mention your system has never been modified.



We'd like to help get your system working properly again. If you're experiencing problems with your Wii console after downloading Wii System Menu 4.2, and you believe your system has not been modified, please give us a call. If we find that you have a normal system and the update caused your system to not work, we'll repair it at no charge.

NINTENDO = FAIL!

they have had LOADS of people complaining on the official forums with the same problems a totally UN MODDED Wii that's now BRICKED or SEMI BRICKED from the new update!!!

The good news though is that they can now use the latest bannerbomb and hackmii and SOFT MOD their broken Wii's and fix them by downgrading lol!

I knew years ago that Nintendo would one day attempt something like this.  Utter failure on their part.
