Hi folks! Been a while. I have been involved in a few projects, including this one. It is an updater for your Wii to get you to v4.2 SAFELY....that is...it will not touch your cIOSes and so on. Make sure to have the latest hackmii installer (Homebrew Channel v1.05) before updating. Apparently the updater has become pretty popular

Do NOT use Waninkoko's firmware updater if you find it. It foolishly trucha signs ALL of your IOSes, causing all sorts of issues on your Wii (like upside down HBC and inability to use hackmii installer). Just use mine and you'll be fine

Man, i could not find much about the issue on wiinewz (maybe i missed it), but i think people would be a little more upset about waninkokos updater?

At the moment there is no reason,
but it won't be long before the update is required for newer  games.

Also, there have been several post about people not being happy with wannikos current 4.2 custom update, I read a lot of them on GBATemp.

The issues with Waninkoko's updater is that it foolishly trucha signs ALL of your IOSes. That is not only unneeded, but it has some very bad side effects. Team Twiizers coded a little "joke" into the latest Homebrew Channel in which if you have the IOS that runs the HBC trucha signed, the HBC displays upside down! Also, if the hackmii installer cannot find a "sane" IOS, the installer won't work. Both of these problems arose after people updated with Waninkoko's updater (which I am still not sure is official, since it has never been posted in his blog)

Anyway, I started with an offline installer as soon as I found out what IOSes were updated with v4.2. Nintendo now stubs 222, 223, 249 and 250. They also remove the "HAXX" id as well as the "DVDX" id. The old bannerbomb was blocked and boot2 is overwritten by boot2v4 (overwriting your bootmii if your boot2 is a lesser version).

So, my updater does not install the stubs and does not touch boot2. It updates pure IOSes of the latest version, as well as new shopping channel. The system menu still blocks the "HAXX" id of the old HBC, which is why you must update your HBC before performing this update (v1.06). There is also a new v2 of bannerbomb that works with v4.2. It works great

ive been completely out of the modding scene this year, last thing i softmodded was my PS2 slim with.....i forgot what the hell.... it was that softmod were you made your ps2 memory card into a modchip, making ps2's think it was a  dvd. but anyways, i wanna get a wii pretty soon and propbably i am gonna get a new one. so where do i start in getting all the files needed for softmodding? an can the new wii's be softmodded?

can any of you guys please help me out. i already bannerbomb modded my wii. with the AIO kit. the version is 3.1u. the problem relies on the  sd usb. im trying to use the sd/usb loader 1.5 by teknocnsolas.es or waninko something like that. the only problem is it will not load any drive, either usb or sd. and i know the usb hdd works and the sd card slot work. since i use that same card to do the bannerbomb. the error i get is "mounting device please wait...... ERROR! (ret -!) any help please

I just used this to update my Wii.

I loaded Preloader since my Wii was new enough to where I cant install BootMii as Boot2.

Preloader said there was an update. I tried to install it but Preloader got stuck downloading the changelog so I held the power button.


Now sadly preloader doesnt work at all and when I try to reinstall 0.29 it doesnt get to the install part and when I try to install 0.30 it says "Failed to Get root" or something like that.

How do I fix this issue does anyone happen to know?
