Superkey loading problems

I have a DSlite with Superkey and Supercard Lite. I have the latest supercard patching software and firmware (1.85). The problem is that a lot of the time the Superkey does not load as in the Superkey does not boot and I'm taking directly to the DS Home screen (with the warning screen) and it says there is nothing in the DS slot. Also another problem is that many of my games freeze randomly this can occur at any time and is very annoying especially as the only way to get round this is to power off/on my DS losing all my progress. I think its the Superkey causing the problem and would like to now if this can be fixed? I bought the Superkey and Supercard Lite about 3 years ago and have just got back into the DS scene.

slot 2 cards are very dated now and not greatly supported :( ....maby its time to take the leap and get a slot 1 card they can be bought for less than $10 (about £/â,¬6 ) now :)

I would still like to get this sorted. Just as a side note- am I better off with the R4 instead?

no avoid R4 cards like the plague they are old now and any new ones are clones and not worth getting!

go for something like an Acekard 2 or an M3 Real or Supercard dsone these are the best supported cards out there so far  :)

Sounds like a hardware problem in which the Superkey doesn't have a good contact with the DS slot.  The freezing of games could also be attributed to this, as games will freeze if you eject whatever is in slot-1 while playing.

My suggestion would be to install FlashMe, which will let you boot the Supercard in DS mode without needing the Superkey at all.  Do this now, while you can still get into DS mode occasionally.  Just make sure you read up on the entire FlashMe process before you do it, as there is some slight risk if you don't take the necessary precautions (insulating the flashing tool).  Otherwise, it's a relatively easy and painless process, and will also get rid of the health and safety warning screen, which is a plus.

As kkan said, if you do plan to upgrade to a slot-1 device, avoid anything with the name "R4" in it.  There are at least 20 different products with "R4" in the name, and while some of them are alright, many of them are fakes or clones, and getting support would be a nightmare.
