[WTS] 754boy's Crippled 40GB PS3!! Cheap!

Ok here's my old gimped 40 GB PS3. I sold it before at another forum but the deal fell through. Now that I have another PS3, I no longer have a use for it.

Its basically a 40 GB PS3 system. Comes with composite cables, one Sixaxis controller with charging cable, HDMI cable, and I'm including the game Haze with it. Everything is in great condition because I barely even used it even when it was working 100%.

Ok, here's the problem with it. It does not read discs. I upgraded the firmware and after I did, it stopped reading games and bluray discs. It continued to read DVDs fine but after about 2 weeks, they stopped loading too. Lots of other people claimed to have been affected by this same problem too.

Other than that, everything else works. You can still download PS3 demos and arcade titles from PSN. You can still browse the web. It will still play movies that are on the hdd or via an external harddrive. You can still stream video, pics, music to it via your computer. I guess if Sony ever goes the way of XBL and start offering PS3 games on demand service, then you'd have a PS3 ready for action.

I don't mind shipping to the UK if you're willing to pay extra $20 for shipping. The box is around 15lbs lol.

Just so everyone knows... I paid 754boy for the PS3 but its never arrived - he claimed it had got stuck at customs. He hasn't replied to an email from me since November so can only assume I won't be getting any money back or for that matter a PS3.

No it never arrived and 754boy stop replying to emails. Paypal didn't refund me either because foolishly I left it too long to appeal. It might have got lost in the mail I guess... but since 754boy stopped replying I sort of gave up.

i know.. i felt kinda bad dredging up an old post, but i was really concerned about this one.

i am pretty shocked about 754boy. i guess someone can seem pretty nice, but still screw someone over. Sorry ratx.
