Watching backup umd video with ir shell

I know you can launch a umd video disc backup iso (like that silent hill experience) using CFW but as far as I can tell, an UMD must inserted in your psp to make it work.
I have stumbled upon ir shell and was wondering, do I still need the UMD inserted in order to watch umd video disc backup iso with ir shell?
