My stepsons DS lite will not power on. The green light would appear and the screen would flash and then nothing.
I have researched as many threads as I can about this. I have tested for continuity on both the F1 & F2 fuses and everything seems fine.
I did find some residue that suggests someone spilled something on it. I am at a stand still at this point.
Any help out there?

Did you try a different battery? If the battery is defective the DS will not power up even plugged in.

If only the bottom screen flashes, then the system can't find the top screen and powers off as a result.  The usual fix is to push the ribbon cable into the top screen connector more firmly, but this usually only happens when people open the DS for other reasons in the first place.
