What is this Mario Kart ordeal?

Ok, I flashed my DS last night (V5) and decided to give Mario Kart a try. I have downloaded so many different "patched" versions, such as an SD card version. But, I decided just to test the clean nointro verified (U) rom, and it works flawlessly. No wiped firmware of course, no glitches, saves fine...works great. So my question is, WHY all of the patched roms floating around?

Cuz the patched roms was released a few days before firmware 1.53, so it was the only way to play it.

Now, yeah, patched roms are useless with the released of the new firmware.

Easy tiger! The reason there are so many is because some are compatible with some cards some others some no cards some every cards so on

Calm down big boy. I did search as a matter of fact, and only found talk of patched MK roms "working", but no reason as to why they would/would not be needed now that v1.53 was released. I could have missed something somewhere, but I am fully aware of the search function buddy. These types of responses are nothing more than a semi-clever way of increasing your post count, and I really despise that.

Thanks to the others that actually clarified my question for me however.

And what you are doing it attacking a well respected member of this forum. While I don't agree with what dudu did this time, Dudu is one of the most helpful people on this forum.

For someone who is so aware of the search function, you sure didn't use it... or even attempt to try and research why there were all these things done beforehand.

in defence of Zector(who like me is a noob...) i thought his question VERY reasonable...hes right...there are so many variants of this ROM that i too havent a clue!!
He posted his question sincerely enough...a sincere answer is deverved...regardless of someones standing on these forums....surely....
The number of posts a member has does not give them the right to SHOUT in a sarcastic way...
What seems basic to one person can often be very confusing for another....read Zectors post .How can what he asked be so irritating to piss someone off....

Again, I'm not going to outright defend Dudu... that was pretty rude.

But I can also see why Dudu was upset because it's the same reason I'm upset. Take a look around in the general and DS compatibility forums... you will see tons of threads ALL about Mario kart DS. Yet he didn't make his reply in one of those threads... or even bother to read the threads or he'd have known what all the fuss had been about.

You can see why Dudu was upset, yet a new person wouldn't know, or care who he was, they'd just need help. Not everyone wants to trawl through tons of threads when it literally only takes a minute to answer a question,...if its obvious or urgent enough to warrant a very common problem, then it would have been made a sticky.

Whiners and moaners make forums a bad place, look at the supercard one...wouldn't want it turning like that here, right?

I'm sorry I didn't sit here and search for a few hours just to find a simple answer to a simple question. I did search around some, but could not find anything on this specific subject, so I decided to ask. I am not attacking Dudu, but merely pointing out that it is pretty rediculous to give me that type of reply. If I am some "newb" (rest assured I am not), and I am supposed to search deeper for answers to my questions, exactly what good did that reply do? Raised his post count, pissed me off, and did nothing to contribute to this thread one bit. I guess it goes back to the old age saying: "If you have nothing good to say...".

But, it is said and done, and it's stupid to continue this mess. Sorry if I offended anybody, that really was not my intent.
