I read that it may be compatible with the 3DS later through firmware updates.   Is there any truth in this at all?

I think the actual news that was made was that they believed they could crack the 3DS, not that the DSTWO would be able to beat the 3DS protection.  Any talk of being able to combat the 3DS by a current flash cart is pretty premature at this point, I think.

There are some issues that have been mentioned on various forums... is not in fact the cracking of the console that maby the problem ....its the size of the games themselves apparently it uses 8GB carts with initial releases using up to 2GB minimum! .....

With ds games maxing out at 256mb currently its a big jump to approx 4x the size!!!  ..sure not an issue with current SDHC cards reaching 32gb  but maby off putting for a lot of casual net users downloading them with their limited/capped download services :(

Then there is the elusive DSi mode sure its possibly been cracked for current DSi cards ...but guessing that NINTY will of put a few more hardware based anti piracy features in this time around for the 3D release!

Then of course there's always trimming, so it won't be awful.
