So is my card dead already?

I have a SCDS1 SDHC version 3 w/ 2GB Sandisk.  I was playing a game and it froze so I rebooted my DS and now it either doesn't start at all (loads up to the N for the Nintendo DS logo) or the card isn't even recognized.

I only got it two days ago. . .  :(

I already formatted my card in both Fat16 and 32 and neither worked obviously.

Same thing happened with the replacement  ;D  If I press the area around the B button too hard it freezes my DS, and that apparently shorts the SCDS.    :smitten:

I hope not.  I have a supercard two I just got about 2 months ago.  Sometimes when you turn on the ds it says that there is not a ds card inserted.  Kind of annoying.

@tennisgy
that sounds like a problem with your NDS

@scootdog
i know the dstwo is tight but ive read people doing the paper trick to get a contact it might stop your problem

My DS is a store demo model that got knocked and stuff by the kids  2funny  I'm surprised it works at all

jmr - What is the paper trick?  Do you mean cut a piece of paper to the size of the card and slide it in behind the card to make it tighter for better contact?

jmr

i never had to do it myself but putting a bit of paper in the back so it pushes the contacts closer

i used to have a DSTT that would not work every time i knocked my NDS on so i used to give it a slight flex holding the top & bottom of the back with my fingers & pushing the inside with my thumb (VERY SLIGHTLY as you can damage the PCB on the inside of you cart) to bend the cart so the contacts touched

the lad who got my DSTT still has to do it after all these years

Sounds logical.  It does not happen to often, but I will give it a try next time.  Thanks.
