Clicking noise when in sleep mode after flashing the DS

When I close the NDS during gameplay (started with A + B + X + Y), an annoying clicking sound begins, and the DS's led starts twinkling. Is that normal?

Another one: after I flashed my NDS, every once in a while the games freeze within loading times (like the time beetween the course exposition and the beggining of the race in Mario Kart). This problem didn't seem to happen when I was using superpass. Is that also normal?

Koji

I've never had this problem. Definitely not normal.

Random lockups occur... I really don't think passme will make any difference because it's the fact that the game expects a game to be loaded in X amount of time and that can often lead to crashes.

if you close the NDS during gameplay using flashme WITHOUT a DS cart in the slot, you will experience the screen rapidly switching on and off, and the speakers too, causing clicking sounds and flashing lights.

sleep mode only works with a cart in the slot.

Wow... It doesn't even do that for me. It just turns off if I close the case without a cart in the slot.

mine used to just turn off, but for some reason, it started doing the crazy flashing thing.. heh. it was around the same time i changed my flashme to v5, and upgraded the Supercard firmware to 1.53... not sure of the connection.

one cool thing is that if i accidentally close it (because i used to use sleep mode alot), it doesn't power down, so i don't lose my game.. even though it flashes like crazy, once i open the DS again, it's back to where i left off.

Yeah, I discovered that myself this morning by accident.

The freezing thing oly happened to me on Mario Kart and Osu! Tatake! Ouendan! (this one being the most affected).

The strange thing is that I only noticed this after I flashed my DS.

Koji

Wasn't in v5 firmware... it must be something in the latest supercard firmware.

I guess this is a good thing... if you accidentally close your DS without thinking at least it doesn't turn the game off now... it just goes into violent convulsions <_<

Simple to fix... if you want to save power, don't use a DS card. If you think you might need to put the game down fast, put a DS card in the slot.
