New DS & Flashme V5

Against my better knowledge my friend has brought a new silver DS, i am assuming that this will have the new firmware on it. If i install the flash me 5 on it do you still need the passme2? Also are you able to flash using the supercard and superpass on the new ones?

Sorry if this has been asked but couldnt find it!!!

Yes you can use a supercard to flash it. And if the DS has the new firmware, then you will need to use a Passme2.

Once it has been flashed tho you shouldn't need the passme 2? except for certain games like the superpass?

Right, but its a real trick flashing the new DSs. I've finally gotten good at it.

I'm actually working on tutorials for hacking DSes for the Joe Everyman. When I finish, I'll post 'em.

You should be able to use SuperPass with the flashed DS, and wifime with the flashed ds.

WiFime was also blocked by the new firmware, you cannot use it until the firmware is flashed on those new firmware DSs.

Just remember that the new DSs require PASSME2 and a special procedure for actually running the flashme upgrade.

Here is my hacking page work in progress. Keep in mind:

1) Its not up to date with the latest Supercard stuff.
2) Its not complete

But its at least a good start on understanding what you have to do.

From witch serial number did the DSs start having this protection? Because I thougt mine were a "protected one" (serial NU40XXXXXX, made in China), but I managed to flash it with Superpass.

The funny thing is that a was getting white screens using the superpass until I upgraded the supercard with its latest firmware.

Again, the serial numbers are a very poor way to determine which have the new firmware.
