when I load it up it says not in FAT format. So I formatted it on my computer but my only option was FAT32 and that still says the samething "not in FAT format". Can someone help

FAT is traditionally limited to 2GB and although I'm not sure, it's likely that the SC can't address more than 2GB.
The only solution I can offer is to create a 2GB partition on the memory card and hope it would work. (The other 2GB are most likely useless in a SC)

there is a post somewhere that explains how to format your 4gig cart so it can be used with SC

Hi there as far as i know the Supercard only supports the FAT16 file format as opposed to FAT32, I don't believe it supports FAT32.

Don't know if its possible to create a couple of partitions on the card as FAT16 but that would be worth looking into.

I might not be right but this is what I believe, also I only believe the supercard can support up to 2GB cards and no higher.

This is definetly true with the SuperCard CF but may be different for the SD but i doubt it. Its probably something to do with the SRAM but im not an expert.

Told you to read it all...

Quote from EGG:

I have a 4gb CF which works at full capacity. You have to format it at command prompt (XP)

format H: /FS:FAT /V:GBA /Q

Where H: is whatever your drive letter is and GBA can be named to whatever you want to appear.

It will say you must accept 64kb block size (as per previous post) so just reply "y".

Only issue I've found is that upgrade.scu doesn't work from the root, but I just used a spare CF for that.

Just a shame I don't have 4gigs of bought games to make back ups of...

End of quote

It is FAT16, not partiotioning, but FAT 16, 4 GB of Fat16, do you really want 2 partitions?

I did try it and it only will let me FAT32 format!

Whats the error from the Windows XP command prompt?

zektor

I think it should work, but is the /q switch necessary? That is for quick format, but with flash cards they end up formatting quite quickly regardless.
