Has anyone else been getting the error "cannot connect to database" when accessing forum/index.php  on this site?

been happening to me all day, until now.  Just wondering if it's happening to everyone.

I made a thread in this subforum about Final Fantasy IV that seems to have just disappeared.  I think we have some serious database issues.

Usually the cannot connect to db error happens when queries to the SQL database exceeds the max allowed connections set in the SQL manager... has anyone pruned/optimized the db lately, and taken a backup snapshot of it?
