New firmware/software-Odd things are happening

Depending on what game I'm running and I do the reset with LRXA I get odd results.  Sometimes the game freezes, sometimes at that point I can press B and the menu comes up.  Other times I will get the menu, or a real glitchy menu.  The strangest thing is when I get "SRAM test!"-press b- "DRAM test!"-press b- "Sample file not found!" -press b- "You are now running Supercard version 1.53!"  WTF did I just downgrade my firmware?  Tony Hawk still works, so I don't think so.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Read the notes... the restart patch is still buggy with a lot of games but Romman is working on making it better.

What notes and where can I read them?  I want to make sure I didn't accidentally downgrade my firmware with some new option.

hey dudu.. what are the bugs in Animal Crossing?

just wondering, because I'm still using .dsi file (load from supercard), and I don't want to switch to .dsq until i know if it's going to crash or not...

(i don't want resetti the mole to get even more pissed off at me!)

thanks..

From the supercard site:

# Fixed 0174 - Tony Hawks American Sk8land halt bug.

I'm just curious, why do people want a soft-restart function in NDS mode?  how does it help?  or is it simply to save the time of powering off and back on?

cory1492

I really dont get it either, but it saves my ears from hearing the crack of the DS turning off... perhaps its just preliminary work to get other patching working like RTS and such, proof of concept per-se; it seems to me, from looking at hex diffs of the old method to the new one that the patcher is working entirely differently now, that alot of the ROM itself is patched wrather than just the header area.

Is it just my ROM or does Animal Crossing feel kind of sluggish?

By sluggish I mean the framerate being not too great..

I just played it my first time and it was on this new firmware, so I don't know if there would have been a difference if I would have tried it on the old one.

Anyone who owns the original cart care to comment?

Run from Supercard, not from media.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

much better then power off power on..

I'm loading Animal Crossing from the CF card position now (previously from Supercard position) and the rom loads faster when entering/exiting buildings and saving.

I've also started to play Nintendogs Friends Version, and it saves and loads much faster than the retail cart.

It's not a supercard thing... the game just only runs at 15fps (which is HORRIBLE. How the hell could they get mario kart looking better then the N64 version AND getting higher framerates (full 60fps even with 8 people on the screen simultaneously) and not be able to get animal crossing which appears to have gained nary a single polygon able to run at at least 30fps?

I am running it from the SC position. I'm not talking about load times, I'm talking about actual gameplay. The graphics are kinda good so I was thinking maybe the sluggish framerate was present in the original game too? Anyone know?
