I was transfering some Roms onto my 512 MB Sandisk CF Card, and I patched some roms using the latest SC patching software. When i try transferring some of my Roms, I get an error saying "Cannot transfer (rom name here). The device is not ready. I can only hold up to about 89 MB of memory, even though my card has 488 MB Free. I have it formatted to FAT, but when I transfer to FAT32, it transfers perfectly, but I know that the SC CF only accepts FAT. What should i do?

EDIT: I had to change the cluster size for the roms. Thanks for trying to help anyway people.

For the 3875346897634th time:

FAT has a limit on the number of files you can have in the root folder. Make subfolders and put your files in them and the problem will vanish.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

I put every game in a subfolder, and not in the root.

NDS Roms----> Ouendan
NDS Roms----> Jump Superstars

It still messes up.

flash cards have a limit of files that can be put on them. Try deleting some roms that you were able to get onto the card, and then try to copy  the roms that said ( "Cannot transfer (rom name here). The device is not ready. ) onto the card.  If that works then you can get an idea of what you have to do to fix it
I had the same problem with my 2G sd card . I was only able to use a small amount of the space on the card.  It would give me an error message, "forgot what it said exactly."  I made a folder for each game,  "name the folder what ever rom you put into it"   , and put the 3 files in each folder for gba roms, or 2 files in each folder for the nds roms. and then depending on what  the first letter of the game is  put that folder into another folder.  for example mario goes into folder M . need for speed goes into folder N.  After I did this I had no more problems.  The SC card also has a limit on the # of files that it can read per folder.  So you will need to organize your files into many folders anyway  if your planning on putting a lot of games on your SC.
