Patch Fail error using SD version software

Hi,

I'm waiting on a supercard in the mail. However to pass the time while i'm waiting i've messed around with the sc software to prepare a few roms. I've tried preparing Yoshi's Island - Super Mario Advance 3 (U) however it the software tells me it fails to patch. The (E) version of it seems to patch fine. However, I own the US version of the game and I want to be able to continue my game save. The compatibility list available http://gba.vltava2000.cz/shops/7000/html/SCGBAlist.htm says that this particular version of the game works fine. I do have an uncorrupted version of the file as its checks out in gba-renamer. Anyone know what's wrong. Will it still work even though the right most column under patch says fail.

yes, it will work, just one of the saver patches will not work.

Thanks for the response Mike. Can you be more specific. If one of the saver patches does not work what does that mean. I thought the saver patch allowed a gba rom to save its progress at save points within the game on a supercard

there are different saves that are patched with the rom: one is the real time save and the other is normal save. Real time save you can save your progress at any point in the game. Normal save is the actual game save."like if you were actually going to save like you were playing the game cartrige." I think the patch that failed is the normal save

Ah ok, i get ya. I would actually prefer the normal save though. Is there anyway of converting a us save to eu. I wouldn't think so.

Some EU and US games the saves can be used between the two. Others won't.

Believe it or not, there are a few US and JP GBA games that have interchangable saves. (The only one I can think of offhand is Sonic Battle, but the JP version also had full English text.)

I'll take a look at swapping the saves so when I get it. Otherwise it's an excuse to play the game over again. But you would think that when the game is marked as working on the compatibility list that you wouldn't have this problem.
