hi ive been away from the flash scene for a few years now so i dont know much about whats been going on so bear with me here

well i was thinking of getting a supercard but a few things still hold me away mainly fear of breaking my ds from its use...

i heard stuff some time ago about a ds virus that (bricks) your ds

can that happen with the supercard?

will the supercard modify my ds in any way?
wouldnt like it to be broken or nintendo finding out about it

i hear stuff about some having flashed their dses for some reason, not anything you have to do, is it?

anything else i sould be careful of?

thanks in advanced SuperBo3  :)

1. Yes, there was a "trojan" that came out a while ago, and if you ran it, it would brick your DS, and your Supercard. If it gets your supercard, it is most likely you can't restore it.

2. Supercard doesn't modify your DS in any way, maybe with the bootup sound, but thats about it.

3. Flashing your DS can save your DS from getting bricked. It also removes the use of a PassMe/Superpass needed. Even if you don't want to flash your DS, its better off too, so you don't need to carry the PassMe/Superpass with you. If you have a new firmware version of the DS, yes, you should flash it, so you don't have to go through the annoying QPC method everytime you wish to use the DS functions of the Supercard.

Also, if you only own a superpass, you should flash your DS, because the superpass *can* destroy your DS cartridge slot.

4. Never run any .nds, .gba, .bin file etc. without someone running it first. :P This is what the many people who got their DS bricked did.

i was thinking of only using it for gba roms and movies,

wasnt thinking of using it for ds games (yet anyways)

what exsactly do you mean by maybe the bootup sound?
will it change it?
and will be be changed forever even if the supercard is removed? or just while its in the ds?

From my experience, *sometimes* the SC will make your DS bootup sound sound, "echoy" or louder. You'll probably notice it. Don't worry about it though, take it out, reinsert, and the loud bootup sound will be gone. I just find it irritating. Won't harm your DS if the SC isn't in there.

not anything else i need if i only want to play gba roms and movies do i?

supercard and a sd card thats all right?

oh and is it posable to brick or flash or ds on other flash kits like the efa linker?
or are they safe from fear of bricking/flashing of the ds?
