hey guys,

OK, I haven't been in the scene for months, so I decided to start catching up....Friday night that is, LOL NOW I've learned everything from Supercard to Magic Key 3. There are so many products that do what I want...I just dunno what to get....

heres my dilemma

1.) I want my Nintendo DS to carry the LEAST amount of hardware possible (no passme or any kind of Magic shit, just one cartridge, which led me to either an M3 Adapter SD OR the Supercard SD, Because Magic Key 3 wants a GBA cartridge and I'm not fairly sure what else) WHICH leads me to ANOTHER question, Can ANY Nintendo DS be patched with Flashme?? because I love that little firmware hack, But I'm confused because I read certain firmwares don't cut it, but I'm not sure. I don't have a DS yet, but I wanna buy one, I guess I wanna make sure, no matter what NINENDO DS I buy, it can be flashed with flashme???

2.) I ONLY want to buy one of these products for the sole purpose of DS roms NOT gba roms, movies, emu's or MP3's (My Psp handles ALL that stuff and fairly well hehe)

so what my intended question was, after you've read my dilemma, what should I get (for playing DS roms)

remember, I wanna carry the least amount of extra hardware and I want solely DS roms.

I would appreciate honest answers, try not to be biased but I can't stop you lol !

thanks again and hope to get some replies!

Ok, here is what you need:

-Supercard (SD or CF)
-Superpass2
-An original game
-card reader

you can get the HW in winsunx.com, after that, reflash the superpass with the game data you are going to use. Please read the tutorials in this site.
Now, flash your NDS using your superpass, then store it into a safe place, connect your card reader, install SC soft, patch some games, and play.
Don't forget to store your original carts too in a safe place ;)

sounds cool, so basically, ANY nintendo ds can be flashed with the flashme firmware downgrader?

thanks

FlashME is definitely the way to go if you want portability.

memyselfandi

if it's new you need a passme2 to flash it, so yes, you should read more into that cause it's not as easy as it may sound. Now i'm not saying it's hard...
and by the way, it's not really a firmware downgrader, it's more like a mod of sorts :?

cool, ok, so im gonna go ahead and buy a ds and ill check up with you guys to see what i should get, thank you and please leave this thread open lol

peace for now!

As long as you have PassMe2. That will work on any DS out to date. I've done the EXACT same thing as you, right now all I carry is:

My DS (with FlashMe V6)
My Supercard SD (with SD card inside)
And ONE DS game (Animal Crossing)

And since they all remain in the DS, I'm pretty much all set.

Just remember when you get your supercard (or whatever) to make sure it's upgraded and you have the most up to date patching software and FlashMe version. Being up to date before starting is always a good thing xP

heym can i ask why your carrying animal crossing, i mean do you have to? Am I gonna have to carry a DS game in my DS as well?

sorry if its a dumb question I'm just trying to understand all this

memyselfandi

you should carry a ds card just incase some games that don't work without a card, do work   And why would it matter if it will stay inside the ds???
is it just cause you don't wanna buy one? you could get a cheap used one...

I'm guessing he's got the original Animal Crossing, and would rather play that than a ROM image of the game.  I do the same with my Mario Kart, to preserve my save game and online records, that is if something bad happens to my CF card.

Plus, with DS's that have been FlashMe'd, its best to have an original cart in the slot, as when it comes to placing a game into sleep mode (for DS sleep mode in games, you just close the lid, preferebly pausing the game first, unlike the PSP's hassle of quickly pushing up on the power button).

If no original game is in the slot, and you place a ROM your playing into sleep mode, some/most games will force the screens to flicker endlessly, with a crackling noise.

ohhh ok, so I NEED it!, nah lol ill buy one haha, I just wanna know what my necessities are, now its ONE ds game and NO passme shmassme shit right? (because my ds will be flashed with flashme)

correct?

(kinda like in psp where i have to have a REAL umd in the drive for the UMD loader to work??)

You will need to buy a PassMe to run the flashme software...I offer SuperPass and SuperPass2's on my site for $24 shipped, also an option to reflash your ds for $10 + return shipping.

You simply need a passme2 and a game that is programmed for it...along with the SC to do the flashme on ANY DS in existence.

After the flash, you no longer need the passme2 or the game. You'll be able to play DS roms right from the SC and nothing else.

Thing is, you'll have to buy the passme2 for 20 or so dollars and a game that it is programmed for for whatever that will cost. When I bought my passme2 I got it programmed for Metroid Demo, which of course I already had since it came with my first DS.

If you want to go a cheaper route, I can flash a DS for you with the equipment I have here. I would however require you to pay shipping both ways, and $20 for my time. Whichever way you choose, you can get that DS flashed!

I didn't notice the $10 ordeal. Heck, go with him then. I couldn't do it for $10 myself. That just wouldn't be enough for cigarettes AND beer!
