You can see what DWedit says about it. Looks very nice but still too unstable for release.

Mithos

Really nice...

I'll get this as soon as its out. :D

Would like to see GoombaDS in the future though, so you can have some cool border to fill the rest of the screen (all of it).

Just firing up the card reader to test a few games.
According to various forum posts tetris dx works.
The readme also hints at an update for jan 10.
Very promsing, fingers crossed DS users will soon have access to the many great gbc games.

Quick compat test.
This is not an exhaustive test,  mearly to see what games boot up.

0002_-_Tetris_DX_J_ (boots, no gfx glitches from a couple of mins play)
0055_-_Warioland_2_I(boots, plays ok but main wario sprite is knackered, when moving only his head shows :) )
0428_-_Warioland_3_I(boots, plays ok, slight gfx glitch on main sprite and slow down)
0876_-_Mario_Tennis_I(boots, plays ok, slight flicker on sprite shadows, slow down)
0238_-_Mario_Golf_I(boots,plays well, no gfx probs)
0703_-_Donkey_Kong_Country_I (boots, menu gfx scrambled, actual game play runs but gfx, sprites knackered.. music plays perfect though :) )
0802_-_Lemmings_I (doesn't boot)
0818_-_Qix_Adventure_I (boots,plays ok, slow down)
0965_-_Harvest_Moon_2_I (boots,menu gfx corrupted,game runs but sprite,bg gfx knackered)
0648_-_Frogger_2 (boots,mneu gfx knackered)
0628_-_International_Track_Field_Summer_Games (boots,menu gfx corrupted,game runs but sprite,bg gfx knackered)

Looks promising. the slow downs could be caused by various things including my SD Card.

Test environment.

DS (unflashed),Superpass, Supercard(SD version) 1.54 firmware, 2.44 patcher with 24.12.05 dat, Crucial 512meg SD Card.

Ahh so nice. I just put Azure Dreams in (one of my few GBC roms) and only a few palette problems and a little slow on scene changes. Nothing too big at all.

For anyone that can't get it working, goomba has to be patched with the supercard patcher to work. Wonder if the prefetcher patch would have any effect... I might try that later.

For me it was the opposite, when running the gombamenu.gba through superpatcher it wont start, but if left as is it will start just fine.   :?

Odd. -shrugs- oh well whatever gets it working. You using SCCF or SCSD? I'm using SD.

Also, the slowdown is not caused by the supercard or patching. It's caused by gooma. Very easy to test, just run the .gba file (before SC patching if you use it) through virtual boy.

memyselfandi

he is using SC SD, it's in his signature and can you guys reccomend some good games?

I never got Goombafront to work either. It is just a buggy software. I used GBA Rom Builder v2.00 to build my goomba roms, and it worked great. I don;t have a link on hand, but I'm sure you'll find it with a quick search of the net.

EDIT: Found it for you!

o_O The software isn't buggy... though it's definitely not the most efficiently designed GUI.

Did you make sure to locate your goomba gba file besides just your rom file?

here you go.

first download the alpha

http://www.pocketheaven.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=3280&sid=e8106d8da6cb78966c0a5ba3d4d51822

1. run the goombafront.exe included in the zip file
2. top left of goomba front end browse to the goomba.gba included in zip file and click the open box.
3. now click on the out put file(top left down one)browse to where you want the file to be created. I use the root of one my drives so its easy to loacate :) and type in whatever you want the compiled goomba+roms file to be named, i use "goombax.gba" so i know this is the compiled .gba not the original one :)
4. next browse to the unzipped gbc files directory on your pc
5. add your roms ( i went for the ones which actually gave a header eg. 8k,32k etc.) i dont know whether there is a file limt for roms so I only added 7 or so to test them.
6. lastly click on the compile button.
7. now run the goombax.gba file thru the supercard patcher software and bang it on your sc/cf card
8. jobs a good 'un :)

I dunno about that man. I am no stranger to emulation and the like, and I know I was doing it correctly because Goombafront DID work for me at one time.

Awhile back I made a few compilations. I did absolutely nothing to change the settings, and the next day it refused to create an output file no matter what I did. Maybe it's a WinXP SP2 related problem. Either way, I never got it working again. Goomba really needs I new GUI, like SMSAdvance's or PocketNES.
