Put a DS game in your DS. Turn on your DS and go into Pictochat. Eject the game.

If the screens turn any color but Yellow, you're fine with a plain SuperPass, and no flashing is absolutely necessary.

If they turn yellow, you'll need a 2-series Pass device, and reflashing is highly recommended.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Koji

As stated above, if you only need a passme1 it's very simple and requires no modification to the system (and thus, doesn't void your warranty)

Simply buy a super pass or pass me. Put a DS game into it, then put them both in the DS slot and you can load DS games from the super card.

Might be safer to flash it, since you can recover it if you run malware.

Dudu.exe

is better a wifi pci card compatible with wifime.. and then flash the ds.. and use the card t play online!

With a Passme if you accidently run a "bricker" ( code designed to delete/damage the DS firmware ) you have no way to recover other than "ppflash" ( take the DS to bits, make a cable, soldering etc ) . With flashme you have the failsafe recovery code installed into the "secure region" of the DS flash chip.

You need to peel off a sticker to flash the DS, so it would be very difficult to make it look unflashed.

The DS is very sturdy, however, and there's a bigger risk of you running malware and bricking your DS than it breaking some other way. I recommend flashing it.
hat's a government pig!

i'm not sure about anyone else but i stuck the sticker back on after i flashed

Quote from: "cheerup347"could i ''un flash'' it if i needed to take it back tot h4e shop where i bouht it from?

ure White DS w. Flashme v7
Supercard SD (Viking 512MB High Speed)
Supercard DS (one) Kingston 1gb microSD
EFZ Advance 256Mbit

Quote from: "cheerup347"if it did go wrong, i wuld need to un-flash it to make it like exactly it was when i blought it fro GAME.

how do you ''un-flash'' it?

would it be hard to do?

thanks

You do it the same way that you flash.

And really the threat of the bricker has gone down so much it's not a very big deal at all.

Also, if you have a decent anti-virus program it'll automatically scan files and tell you if it's dark fader's bricker.

And the green color means you have a Version 3 DS. It's fine to get a normal super pass/passme.

Yautja

dude if you use the flashme that DOESNT take away the health and safety notice then none will be the wiser unless you either tell them or they know EXACTLY how to find the difference between two flashed firmware and the not flashed firmware AND they have a gba flashcart in the ds. i mean unless they know to press abxy with a GBA FLASHCART in there theres no way to know the difference and no game shops carry gba flash carts as they are techniakally illegal but yeah and if anyone asks why the sticker is missing just say it was an accident while you were changing the battery. they will never know. plus you wouldnt want to go through the hassle of useing a passme or having it stickout of your ds really far.

simple FLASH YOUR DS. what flashme you use is up to you. if your so concerned about your warrenty then use the healthand safety intact one.

go here then follow thw instructions
look for a stick on the help and tips board for more step by step for supercard

What you're refering to is running the Mario Kart DS rom with older (v4 or lower) versions of the flashme firmware. If you put v5 or v6 on your DS you won't run into that problem. Even if you did have the older flashme firmware, running the actual game would not cause any problems.

m2pt5

Use flashmestealth. It's available at the official flashme page, which is the first Google result for "flashme".

Quote from: "cheerup347"what is flashme stealth?

what are the features of it?

why should i use it?

thanks

It's the flashme tht retains the health and safety screens. If you want the ds to continue to display those screens, as well as the DS "jingle" you see when you turn on an unflashed unit, use this one. I personally prefer speed of getting to the menu over the jingle, so I use the regular flashme.
