Upgrades Superpass 2 Firmware. If you have the programmer - I think it comes standard with superpass 2

im curious, i just received my superpass 2( i dont have the supercard as i ordered it separately) and got three things, the superpass 2, the eeprom(i think that is what it is called) and a usb cable. Am i set to go? i just figured out that i could stick the eeprom in the back of my computer and use one of the usb ports as the power but does this work? cause when i program it on winxp using superpass 2 v1.0 and choose the game (mario kart us) it says   waiting then playxsvf501b.eve has encountered a problem and needs to close screen comes up and i close it and then it says that it succeeded. It did this both with the superpass plus in the back (in the parallel port, i guess that is what it is called) and just connected to the usb. Am i doing something wrong?

hi,

i got mine yesterday with no problems whatsoever (superpass2, supercard, mariokart amce-0)

just followed the instructions on the supercard website and worked like a charm

first i flicked the switch into write mode, the connected it to the eeprom thing, then i plugged it into the parallel port and connected the usb cable to power it up (*** THIS WAS THE BIT I GOT CONFUSED WITH ***) I was expecting a usb icon to pop up in the tasktray ... but it powers the eeprom with no notice to the user.

after that confusment, i loaded the superpass2 application and selected my game and clicked PROGRAM

didn't get any error and it was successfully written to.

copied over the gba and sav files for my particular cart into the supercard

plugged in my supercard and ran the gba file. it writes the sram file. plug in the superpass2 and cart into the ds slot when you see the sram file successfully written to. switch off and switch on

BAM! worked for me

you should probably just wait until you get your supercard before you look too into things
(it sounds like you are doing the same as the person who has it working)

NeoShweaty

i guess i should. Hopefully if USPS is fast(i know, i know) then i get it by saturday but probably on monday. So you are right. Ill wait till then

programming the superpass2 has nothing to do with the supercard

try reinstalling the superpass2 software again if all fails

i dunno if operating system makes a diff but im running xp

NeoShweaty

but dont you need to program the superpass with the game that your gonna use in order to use the supercard?

pootang

think of it like this:

[Superpass2]
- install the superpass2 software
- flick the write switch
- connect the superpass 2 the eeprom
- connect the superpass/eeprom to the printerport & usb ports
- run the superpass2 application
- choose the game which is the same as the cart you have
- select PROGRAM

if all goes well the superpasswill be programmed. see how it doesn't require the superpass for this part.

[Supercard]
- click on the games compatability list found on the instructions of the superpass2
- in that list find your game and you should see a link to download the gba and sav files for the cart that you already own
- blah blah blah follow my instructions already provided above

so even though you don't have ure supercard yet, you should be able to program the superpass2.

hope this helps

alright, i reinstalled the software and everything goes off without a hitch. So i put the superpass in the eeprom, switch the switch on the side of the superpass down, connect the usb to the eeprom, connect the usb to a port that my ipod uses, put the eeprom in the parallel port, opened the software, selected mario kart, and it gives me the error:
"Error!:
1. Hardware not Connected to PC
2. USB cable not connected
3. SP2 Key switch not open"

what the fuck does this mean?

hey man no need to be angry, i'm just trying to help

as for your issue. that is beyond my knowledge as to what could be causing the issue.

your best bet know is to post a thread like this in the official supercard forums.

sorry i couldn't help you fix your problem

im not angry. I guess i might as well take it overthere

at least i would if the website works

why did they make something that could be so simple so complicated

Do you set Parallel port in your bios as "EPP 1.9"?  try to change it and try again. :)

I just got my supercard and superpass2 today. I have never been able to load the supercard homepage, so I cant get the info on how to program the superpass2. I downloaded the superpassV10.rar program and I downloaded the SAV and GBA files for 168 AMCE-0 Mario Kart DS (U) that I own from
http://darkfader.net/ds/games/

Now I cant program my superpass2 at home, because I only own a laptop without a printer port, so I'm going at my brother's house to do it there. So I need to figure things out now before I go there.

If I understand all I need to plug everything, use the program to select mario kart, program my superpass 2, then have the acme-0 sav and gba file on my supercard?

The only thing I'm not sure about is taking the superpass in and out to get it to load?
