Some questions before I order a supercard sd + superpass--&g

I was gonig to order an M3 adapter from Divineo for 95$ but I found a seller that had an SD supercard with superpass for 70$ shipped. He lives in New Jersey (which is where I live). Does this sound like a good deal? With the supercard I save money and space (the sd supercard is alittle smaller than the m3 sd which I like) AND I can run moonshell on SCSD for mp3s and fullscreen movies.

Here are my questions--

1)How bad is the slowdown for gba games? Everyone talks about it. Approximately how similar is running a game on the SC to running the game from a regular commercial cart? If someone handed me a gba/nds with a supercard and a loaded gba game would I be able to tell that it wasn't an actual game cartridge? I want to backup my castlevania games and metroid games so I only need to carry around one cart.

2)How well do NDS games run? How bad is slowdown? I know the SC was designed for GBA games. Again, would I be able to tell if someone gave me an SCSD with a loaded NDS game that it wasn't from an actual NDS cart?

3)I know that moonshell can support fullscreen NDS movie playing with decent file sizes. My question is- how good is the frame rate? Can I watch a jackie chan movie without it being a slideshow?

4)I read in another post that the actual Supercard didn't fit very well into the NDS GBA slot. Will the SCSD damage my GBA slot over time? I know that the superpass can damage the spring in the NDS slot- but I plan on installing flashme so thats not a big problem.

Thanks for your help!

.5. I bought mine for $55 new plus 6 dollars or so with shipping (including a superpass). I'd say whereever you are buying from is overcharging a fair bit.

1. It depends... most games have little to no slow down if you set them up correctly. Some games will always be slow. Some as much as half speed making them very unplayable.

2. Most games run with no slow down at all. Some games take a couple extra seconds at loading a level, but this is only most notable on Osu Tatakae Ouendan. Compatibility is somewhere around 98~99% and there are work arounds for mot games with slow down (loading from the supercard ram versus loading them directly from the SD or CF cards)

3. I haven't played around with the latest version of moonshell, but you should be able to get 12-15fps without too much fuss.

4. No. A brand new supercard SD will be a tight fit, but after pushing and pulling it in and out a few times, it'll wear down and it'll be pretty easy to get in and out. The superpass can only damage the spring in the DS if you don't know how to do it right (read as, you don't understand how spring loading mechanisms work)

Thanks for the info!!! Sounds great, I'm very excited. I must ask... where did you get it for that cheap!? Ebay?! The seller that I found has it for 55$ but with 15$ shipping.

I forgot to ask this earlier... how is battery life with NDS? I read somewhere that it drains the battery within 3 or so hours. Is this true?

I heard that the SD has a battery life of 5 hours. And i think thatt he person you areb uying from is realhotstuff from ioffer.com.  He makes money off of the shipping cost, because ioffer charges him for the items he sells.

Yea, it was realhotstuff. So thats why everyone has expensive shipping on that site. I'm still looking around for a cheaper alternative.

Seems like a decent price, but I am always kind of weary on a company that will only accept Western Union, bank transfer and paypal.

I was at first, but after buying there 3 times, I think it's a pretty decent site, they take a while to process the order, but after the payment everything goes fine.

winsunx looks good. I was thinking about picking up a CF version eventually, this'll let me grab a CF and a superpass 2 for a friend with ease. Heh then we can finally play some of the bigger games.
