Hey,

Any decent moonshell tutorial anywhere?  :?

alving

So are there any? (I would also like to know)

Koji

I'd start by reading the readme that comes with moonshell. I thought it was pretty well written and easy to follow.

If there are a lot of people interested in one, I'll do an image based guide (much like my one for encoding videos for moonshell)

hey, Koji, I think your offer of a pictorial tutorial sounds excellent, especially if it's as good as your vidoe one.  I for one would like to know what else I can get from & do to moonshell. I've now managed to change my skin and music, but I'm sure there's a whole host of other personalisations that can be done.  It's over to you. Oh, and I know I'm a little late, but congratulations on your 1000th post.    :D

haha teh read me was not that easy to follow especially since they changed the names of the compilers and files but not the readme. o well just cause it took me 2 hours last night to figure it out doesnt mean its hard.

Basic tutorial

Getting started

1. download the moonshell zip (current version is 0.9)
2. Unzip it to the c drive ( you can use other folders but it seems some people were having trouble with the file names being to long due to location dont know if they fixed this, i just put the entire moonhell folder on the cdrive)

3. next open the folder and then be amazed at how much stuff is in there. after you get over being in awe, simply double click the exe file named WriteFiles_EXFS.bat this will create some files starting with the extension _boot_mp_exfs.nds.....
4. now you want to double click the file CreateNDSROM_for_SuperCard.bat and this will create a file named _BOOT_MP_SC.nds.
5. simply move the above file to your removable memory card.
6. for your files simply make a folder and add teh files you want to view to that folder. move this folder to your cart as well. sub directories are supported.

thats about it for getting it up and running.
