so that hyroglyph and OK box was an error message.  If the new desktop file size is correct i.e. small enough (45 kb), then I won't see any message at the end of the WriteFiles_IMFS stage? If size is important (as we all know it is..), how big can the mp3 file be for the startup? Please don't tell me only 4 kb.
And did CP really mean a file size of 10 mb as that's tiny.

sorted.

I reduced the colour depth of the bmp file to 8bit. This reduces the size from 144k to 49k.
copied the moonshell folder to the root of c:
compiled as usual and it works hurrah!
Time to fiddle with the global.ini now to get rid of the default start up windows.
Thanks for all the tips chaps, this forum is a godsend for numpties like me

lol my startupfile is 1.8 mb and my background is 152 kb 24bit
Global.ini is 7 kb and the rest like normal.

sorry Rocky, as I've just managed to changeit, it looks like you're the last numpty in the universe that hasn't managed to re skin their moonshell0.9, !!!! I've tried to change the startup mp3 file but am having no luck. I assume there is a size limit as well.  thanks for all the help

What exactly do I do? do I just run the supercard.bat or do I need to runsomething else first.

You do this.

You need to run WriteFiles_IMFS.bat to make the changes to the _BOOT_MP.nds file, after this run CreateNDSROM_for_SuperCard.bat to make the _BOOT_MP_SC.nds file.

Because all CreateNDSROM_for_SuperCard.bat does is to add a loader to the file _BOOT_MP.nds.

So you need to do what I said first in reply.


Or you could add call WriteFiles_IMFS.bat as the first line in CreateNDSROM_for_SuperCard.bat

Okay I figured it out, I mised the part where I could only have 45kb or something. Is their a way to make that bigger so it can have bigger files like in moonshell v8?

Edit1: I think cory had changed the size for SD moonshell V8, does anyone know what changecodepage he changed to support the bigger files?

Okay guys I figured it out.
To make larger files  work in moonshell V0.9 as a skin you must place this file in the changecodefolder and run it that will increase the size the files can be. This will allow you to use any of my old skins I made that I have in the DS saves forum.

rocky, glad to managed to mod your skin, and can now throw away your "I'm a numpty badge".  That cpo_large.bat file tweak looks v interesting so I'll have a go at trying it tonight. I wonder if it works with large mp3 music files as well...

im not a numphy whatever that means, I know alot about programs, and computer stuff, its just I didnt know their was a limit. I always used the modified SD version that never had a limit.  check out all the skins I made in the ds saves forum.

Rocky - if you don't know what a numpty is, then how do you know you're not one???  :shock:  If it's a person without a sense of humour, then clearly you are one!!  :wink: Enough of this idle ribaldry - that cpo_large.bat tweak worked a treat, so you clearly 'know alot about programs' - perhaps that alone makes you a numpty??? (whatever that is??). As your Doctor,  I recommend you take a Chill tablet ASAP.

I have a big Problem:
When i click on the touchscreen moonshell recognize the click a few millimeters beside the real click. Do u get it?
I mean when i want to click the scrolling bar i cant touch it directly. I must click a little bit beside it.
How can i solve this
