Consider me as the utimate DS virgin. I've had no dealings with it at all!

Both slots work perfectly with normal cartridges.

If I insert a supercard into the gba slot, nothing in the DS slot and turn on the DS what should happen? Should there be a menu to view, or a list of programs on the card, or nothing??

I, unfotunately, see nothing and am thinking I might have a duff SC. I've cleaned the contacts on the SC but nothing changes.

Any ideas and offerings would be appreciated.

Yes I have a memory card formatted to FAT with .gba and .sav files on it. I am thinking the SD isn't able to read my sc at all. The pictochat screen says ther is no game pak inserted.[/quote]

Even if you didnt have an SD card in the Supercard you should still get the white menu screen and a message saying "insert SD card"

So I am guessing you have a duff SC.

Usually if there's no SD card in the SC, you will get a 'There is no Game Pak inserted.' error.

Okay are you trying to play GBA or DS games?

If you are trying to play DS games, you need more then just the supercard to play them.

If you are trying to play gba games, load up the GBA games you want on the SD/CF card and then from the DS menu boot into GBA mode.

If you want to play NDS backups you'll need some sort of passthrough device. See any of the millions of guides out there for that.

At the moment I'm sticking to GBA games. But even with the .gba & .sav files on the SD card I still only get to the pictochat screen where it says no game pak inserted.

I have never seen a menu or list of files on the SD card.

I think I'll get a replacement and try again.!!

you just start the supercard like a normal GBA cartridge, just think f-zero is in there and you'll get to the menu, and blow in the gba slot and the supercard. that works for me.

Just an update...

Had my sc exchanged and put the new one in. Wadya know it works!!!
