For the past few days i have been playing with my Supercard, but upon playing one of my favorite all time games (Pokémon) i found that i cant save it.

When i load up pokemon, i get the error message:

"The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played" before it lets me continue playing the game (But upon going to save, it crashes the Nintendo DS)

Now i have seen that its something to do with the Real-Time savings, its all completely over my head at the moment, but ive read up and it says press L+R+A+START (Or B) and press save.

Unfortunatly, saving the game using either of the 2 methods dont work for me, but, it will no doubt be because i am completely new to the whole SuperCard business

But can someone tell me if i can or cant play (and save) pokemon games?

Cheers

The Master Compatibility List contains game compatibility for all ROMs we've tested.  If you want to know if a game works, check there first.

There are numerous Pokemon games, and most, if not all, utilize a RTC (Real-Time Clock).  Do not confuse this with a RTS (Real-Time Save).  There are also other compatibility issues some Pokemon games have with flash carts.

Therefore, these games need to be patched with the appropriate patches for use on flash carts which do not feature RTC support, as well as for use on any flash cart, in the case of universal compatibility issues.  You can find such patches here.

Right looks like there is a few files there to patch, but how do you add the patch? I have got my Pokemon Rom, as well as the .IPS extension but no readme's confirm how to set em up

i went through the lil FAQ, just to make sure im doing this (and reading it correctly from your point of view)

I load up the SuperCard program
I go to the "options" tab
I select "Enable restart" and "Enable Real Time Save" The rest are not needed but for arguements sake they can be?
I choose "Game List" tab
I "Add" the selected ROM (Pokemon Ruby)
I right mouse > Properties the ROM file
Enable: Save, Server patch, Real Time Save, Restart; are all selected
I click on the External IPS and locate the file
Im using the file "Ruby_patch-fluke.ips"
I click "Out" and load the ROM (Along with the Patch) to the CF Card

If thats the correct process, Pokemon Ruby loads up fine, but upon trying to actually use any buttons (Select, Start, A, B etc) they are unresponsive until i use them all together, but whatever the case, i cant get past the opening screen.

I tried another .ips file, but i just get a white screen which means looks like that didnt work right...

its nearly 2am... im going to give up tonight but hopefully can sort it out tomorrow :p, way im feeling i just wanna sell my Nintendo DS with the Supercard its becoming that annoying :p

Yes, that's the correct process.

Are you using the correct ROM for those patches (they require a specific group release)?  Have you verified your ROM dump as not being corrupt or overdumped?  Have you replaced the saves located in the Supercard folder with those in the Saves Package located in the Much faster Supercard software Mirror and tried re-patching the original ROM?

BTW, those are the correct patches for the problems you are experiencing.

Hey Gray.. and Diablo

Yup.. it's me.. still trying to get Pokemon to work correctly.

Okay lets compare a few things.

my Pokemon Ruby CRC is FE507148, that with the No-Intro patch applied
I thought the Fluke patch was only for Sapphire, but even without it I can still play my Ruby on the SC.

To Fix the "Internal battery ran dry..blah blah.." I use GBATA to patch the RTC.

The only problem is the Save corruption issue. Although, loading and saving works  but with data corrupted, the Hall of Fame record will also be corrupted. That means you wont be able to view records of the winning team  and I dont know how that's gonna affect the events that only occur with the beating the game.

I play some more and see how the Latios, Battle Tower and other events are affected.

SO basically.. playable but Save issues..until someone figures out how to address the Flash Save issues.
