Just obtained SC with SD card
Converted about 7 GBA games (staying with GBA to keep things simple)

Its a GBA I have

Games seem to work first time - but if I switch off and then back on - go back in and the game is in the cart and I just press A - the screen just goes blank and the GBA just hang.
Tried converting with both save and no save options - same problem.

If I reload another game it will again play.

I didn't format the SD card - just took it as was - if I right click it just offers FAT32 as an option - any suggestions what I can do????

don't fat 32 format.  And I think when you power back on and the game is still in the cart that is for the QPC saving.

The game does NOT save into the cart. If you turn off your GBA for even a second, all the data in RAM gets corrupted and you HAVE to reload it into RAM. If you don't, you just get a black screen.

If you want to quickly reboot in SC you have to enable restart for each game you want to put on your supercard then press L+R+START+SELECT

Going to show my ignorance here - the gameboy is my sons so don't know that much about it - just trying to get this SD supercard combination working.

So when I power back up and it says game in cart - I don't just hit A - I should re-select a game. Is that correct?

On the official supercard site under FAQs it has -
Q: Why some games white screen?
A: For GBA games, please unselect Restart or Cheat Code option when coverting game. For NDS game, maybe it's a bad dump game, please try to use IPS patch it.

I thought my problem was something to do with that. So I took the Restart options off.

Should I just put them back on?

I obviously didn't play the games long enough to test a restart.
But if he did he would be able to save at any time and then re-laod the  saved game somehow - I can go do more reading about that if nec.

can you point me to an idiots guide for all this?

I guarantee you the problem isn't the restart patch in this sitation. You should have restart on unless you experience slow downs or crashes.

In this situation you are talking about turning off the GBA, turning it back on, and it saying the game is still in cart. That data is corrupt. Every time you turn your GBA off, you have to reload the game even if it still says it's in cart.
