This has probably been explained ad infinitum
but I can't find an exact explanation and I'm a bit nervouse I do some damage - so here goes

OK got the supercard SD version for GBA - downloaded the 2.51 software and started converting the GBA games - works quite well - I've done nothing with firmware however - kind of hoped I wouldn't need to - but think now I should
have as can't get saves to work.

I have this file sd_160.bin

What do I do with it? - just copy to sd card and start up GBA?

Will the GBA detect it by itself? - or do I need to select it?

Should I clear all other games of the sd cart - or will they not affect it?

That's the firmware update for the Supercard, not the GBA.  Just put it on your card and run it.  If you only have a GBA and not a DS, then you don't need to worry about things like Flashme.

take that file "sd_160.bin" put it on your sd card start up your gba with the supercard in it you will see that file on the sc menu.  select the file and it will ask you if you want to upgrade and it will also tell you what sc firmware vesion you have presently.  select yes and the upgrading process will begin.  That is it you are all set.  If you have a problem upgrading try taking your roms off of the sd card, and just leave the upgade file on the sd card.

OK - just put it on the the sd card -

you say and "run it" - so it will appear along with the other games will it ?

and I just select it and then select A - is that right ?
will it just do its thing ? or ask me a lot of options?

And I don't need to remove any of the games from the sd card
that I have on just now - is that correct?

amt01

OK thanks to you both - cheers

you don't have to unless it doesn't work.  Just select the file and it will do its thing
