Nintendo detects dump and/or flashme on WFC

Maybe it is like the same problem as playing the multiplayer on a flashme to a non flashme ds.  Where if the rom on the flashme ds doesn't have the authenticated part so the non-flashme ds won't comunicate with the flashme ds's  rom.  Well that might be the same case as with the nintendo wifi?
Doesn't the flashme take something out of the rom? Some authentication "signature?" thing or something?

My roms are still going strong online.  8) But if they every do stop working, I don't have a problem paying 30 bucks here or there for the few games that are wifi compatible. They're worth it.  :)

warlord

Yes, they're defininately worth it and I'm gonna buy a copy of ACWW for sure. But ofcourse there's no europian version yet and I wonder if I can move everything from CF to the orginal cart once I have one.

Also I played ACWW dayly and connected dayly to. Up until tuesday (7-2-2006) nothing was wrong. I think they have recently tracked the 'problem' of romdumps.

today, I'm gonna try upgrading the firmware and flashme. Maybe it helps, maybe it won't.

I tested AC, Tony Hawk and MKDS and they still work for me. Just completed a few races on MKDS!

For those that are having a problem connecting, how about some more details?

1) Flashme Version
2) Rom Region
3) NDS Cart inserted (if so what game)
4) Regsiter DS
5) What Card (Supercard, M3, etc) and Bios
6) Any MK hacks
7) Own MK save or downloaded / hacked
8) Do you disconnect before finishing a grand prix

There must be something in common for those that are having a problem. I doubt it is flashme as they should still be able to detect it even with a legit cart. It writes in some additional address space on the bios so if they can detect it with a rom they should be able to detect it with a cart.

I am assuming it has to do with hacking or something along those lines. I know quite a few people that were playing MKDS tonight off a rom without any problems.

1. Flashme Version: V6
2. Rom Region: EU
3. NDS Cart inserted (if so what game): NONE
4. Regsiter DS: NO
5. What Card (Supercard, M3, etc) and Bios: SUPERCARD SD 1.51
6. Any MK hacks: NOPE
7. Own MK save or downloaded / hacked: OWN
8. Do you disconnect before finishing a grand prix NO, AT CONNECTION TO WFC

i don't think it's flashme...someone got d/c without a modded firmware?

Nothing unusual there from what I see. I am using the US version of the rom (but I know people had problems with that as well as the EUR version). I am also running Frimware 1.60 but I don't see that as causing a problem either.

Has anyone who had this problem retested lately with the same configuration as before? Is it possible that Nintendo was just having a problem with their WIFI service in general?

I haven't seen anyone else mentioning this problem on other forums so it doesn't seem to be widespread but I (as I am sure everyone else is) curious as to what the exact cause is.

venni

the curious thing is that it just started it all in one day...like they added some numbers of ds to block in some sort of database, and then nintendo started blocking them 2-3 days ago
questions could be:

1- are they going to block other ds, add new id to ban over time?

2- could an updated flashme bypass the check and/or continue connection even with the error? (think like they did with Valve's Steam)

3- will future ds carts use Starforce?

MKDS gives me the error however Animal Crossing does not (yet).

Wario

Same thing for me with FlashMe v6, MKDS U

The game was patched with prior version of 2.50 from Supercard Soft.

But see

it seems that after re patching and starting new game, it works again fine.

Will try tonight

I'm using the USB wifi connector. Can this possibly play a part in the problem (e.g. general wifi router: no problem, USB connector: problem)

I want to mention the following to make clear nothing happened to my configuration:

I have Supercard CF, with Flashme v6 and latest SC software. It worked fine constantly and just since yesterday it DOESN'T work anymore. I'm from Holland-Europe by the way.

L.D.

I live in Holland to.
Got V6 firmware.
Supercard CF latest software.
I patched the game (animal crossing) again and played a new game and it worked.
Can play online.
With Mario Kart I play online sinds yesterday and got no problems.

Yep, just repatched a new rom image and deleted the old one, and it now connects to the WFC servers fine.

I usually delete my save game on the rom image (in the in-game options menu) after winning 10 or so games with zero losses.  It gave me the error after I last deleted the game in the options menu.

Cheers for the info.

I second that.

I repatched my clean rom dump with 2.51 CF version ( with trim load and save to CF ) and now it works. ( It rejected me 5s ago with my old dump ).

Now I can connect, thank you guys.  :D
